Visited a couple of months ago for my sons first haircut. Chosen as appeared more specialist than the barbers in my area for a childs cut. We were ignored on arrival but thought just busy so waited. We then became the only people in the salon which I thought would be great for his first haircut. Asked for just a trim as didn't want the traditional "boy cut" at just over 1 year. Hairdresser very roughly cut my boys hair, much shorter than we wanted and it was over in less than 5 mins. Felt very rushed and pushed out of the salon. Hairdressers mainly talking amongst themselves and not helping to try and calm my son to make it easier. I have since been to other barbers with my son who spent time with him and did a much better job of cutting his hair in the style we wanted. They also found ways to keep him amused and still so the cut was easier, something I expected would be done at a childs hair salon. Would not recommend Cheeky Chops for a child/toddlers cut.

Took my son to get his haircut yesterday who hates getting it done. Charlotte was brilliant. She kept him entertained whilst she cut his hair. Would definitely go back. Beats going to a general salon.

We always go to cheeky chops and have always had really good quality cuts. They are really patient with kids, my son used to find haircuts really difficult and wanted scissors only and this was never a problem. He is now happy with clippers thanks to their calm approach. Always a nice chat too!

Absolutely horrible. Used to be owned by a lovely lady who did autistic friendly cuts. The new owners are disgusting. So rude. Absolutely clueless how to run a business. Didn’t even acknowledge me. Acted annoyed by son who has autism (but I paid extra for an autism friendly cut). Didn’t even talk to me just talked between themselves. Randomly swapped hairdressers in between the cut without even informing me. Second one was even worse acted even more out off by my son and she didn’t say a word to, very rough loud voice shouting to people in the back about their plans for the evening. She looked and sounded hungover. Do not recommend for any child and especially if you have a SEN child PLEASE DO NOT GO HERE. I was a loyal customer to the previous owner I will not be stepping foot back here.

I had an absolutely unpleasant experience at Cheeky Chops with the hairdresser Charlotte. We arrived just 7 minutes late for our appointment, but right away, Charlotte snapped, “Well, you’re 10 minutes late, so you’ll need to wait now.” We apologized and said it was no problem, but she kept harping on about those “10 minutes late” at least another 10 times, which quickly became incredibly annoying and unprofessional. Charlotte has a loud and disturbing voice, and she turned outright rude by constantly repeating the same complaint. When she finally started cutting my toddler’s hair, he got a bit stressed and wouldn’t sit straight—which is normal for a young child. Instead of being patient, she said, “You should book extra time if your child is like that.” At that point, I just wanted to leave, so we didn’t even finish the haircut; we paid and walked out. Charlotte clearly needs more experience working with kids and should try to be softer and less loud in her approach

Took my 2yr old Grandson for his first cut, mum had waited this long as he is nervous and anxious in a room with strangers. His hair was long and curly and getting tangled, even in his toys! Cheeky chops did a fantastic job, they managed to keep him stress free and did a fantastic job. Would highly recommend to mums that are worried about the first time experience of having a hair cut. The before and after are

Absolute miracle worker! I have a very nervous little man who can be very shy around strangers and can wriggle a lot. We booked for the longer session which made the appointment more relaxed and gave him time to warm up and we weren't as rushed. She really worked around him to make him as comfortable as possible. He didn't want to go in the car and sat on his nana's knee whilst playing on a game yet still it was quick and a beautiful cut. We even got a certificate for his first cut too! I will not hesitate to recommend and will be back soon.

First hair cut for my 5 year old (I know). The hairdresser read his body language well and didn’t make a big deal out of anything, but at the same time encouraged him along. Followed my instructions/pictures well too.

I've been to other children's hairdressers in Leeds and been disappointed with the service but not Cheeky Chops. Vivianna was fantastic with my son, she really made him feel comfortable and gave him a great haircut. Fantastic experience and exactly what I would want from a children's hairdresser. We will definitely be back for his next cut!
