   I went in to get a trim and some framing around the face with Amanda. Sadly I left with a very chunky long layer and gaps around the face. I contacted the salon to correct it and whilst it looked ok when blow dried in the salon, when I left and styled it myself in the following days, it was evident there were still inconsistent gaps and a thick, unblended layer. I appreciate the effort to rectify it but I’ll now be going to a new salon to have it fixed. I asked for a different stylist to resolve it but was assured that Amanda could fix it, sadly that wasn’t the case.

   My hair had grown out very long over three and a half years throughout the pandemic times. I had initially grown it as part of a charity scheme and needed a professional who would be able to advise me on the best way forwards for a cut and style. I booked into Strands having read alot of excellent reviews. Joe has a wealth of technical knowledge in his profession and has a high level of practical skills to go with it. I was a bit nervous at first having had no cut for so long. Joe took the time to discuss, advise and offer suggestions of the best way forwards for a cut and style whilst still retaining some of the length. Joe did a fantastic job on my cut and styling, and I am really happy with the outcome. I will have no hesitation in booking ongoing appointments as and when needed. The Salon has a very friendly, relaxed and welcoming atmosphere that is very professional. The level of service that I received was outstanding and included a complimentary coffee. Thank you.

   I went to have my eyebrows done from Toyah (if I spell it right) and she was amazing. As a male it’s not easy to walk In to a place to get my eyebrows tinted and waxed, I feel pure anxiety. Toyah managed to get me in a quick slot as I told he my mental health problems and she really advised me on what is best. The outcome was absolutely amazing as well as the price being so cheap. I could leave this review and keep going but the reviews he bottom line perfect.

   I wish I could give more than 5 stars, I’m absolutely in love with my hair and I’m so so grateful to Amanda- she did a wonderful job!! My hair has been restored to its previous healthy condition after years of damage and thinning- in fact it’s never looked this good! Not only that but everyone at the salon was so accommodating and respectful; as I wear a hijab they booked me in on a quiet day and ensured I was hidden from any male customers. The service is of great value, especially for such high quality- I’d recommend strands to everyone.

   I had previously had a good experience here, but booked with a different stylist as I was not 100% happy with my haircut at my last visit. When I arrived I was told clients see the same stylist unless they weren't happy with the service and asked if I would like the same stylist IN FRONT OF MY PREVIOUS STYLIST. I felt uncomfortable so just went with it, but after describing the style I wanted was told that the layers would not look good and that the stylist knew best. I ended up with a blunt haircut that really I could have done at home, with a slightly uneven shape. It's not massively noticeable but if they had spent a bit of time checking the cut properly it could have been fixed- I was only able to see the problem when I got home. I now need to spend more money to get a haircut I am happy with, and feel I cannot visit Strands again because of the awkwardness.

   Joe worked magic on my hair. It was in bad condition, with faded blue and lots of roots, and he transformed it to gorgeous copper just by using a shampoo and conditioner. Incredible value for money and everyone there is so lovely and welcoming! I can’t recommend this place enough.
