The pharmacy at this place is a dreadful experience. I don’t know where you’re hiring from but these ‘people’ have zero manners, are rude and unhelpful, they also manage to try and shame you into not getting what you asked for. As a new low I was asked about where I came from, followed by ‘Manchester’? Why the hell does that matter and who are you to ask?! Disgusting man!

I visited the boots store earlier ( 31.08.25) in handforth Dean looking for some makeup that would be good for my holiday . I was very impressed by the Clinique assistant , they were friendly, approachable and very knowledgeable in skin care and make up. I'm not very knowledgeable on makeup and skincare but they gave me so much tips and advice on what to do. I love the products I walked away with and is the closest skin match product I've ever bought. The assistant really made my shopping experience and would definitely go again to buy my skin care and makeup essentials.

Amazing service by Alison! She went out of her way to help me, offering product advice and how to get the best deals. I tried leaving feedback by scanning the QR code but Handforth store wasn’t an option. She’s a credit to the company!

This review is about the pharmacy only at Handforth Deane . I am of retirement age with long life experience and this is without doubt the worst pharmacy I have ever visited. I can say for definite that I will never visit this store again after being humiliated by the staff for the second time in front of other customers. I called into Boots today. Amazingly the pharmacy was actually open and they also had stock of the tablets that I wanted, which is not always the case. The lady pharmacist refused to serve me on the basis that she thought that she might have served me with the same tablets a week earlier. My wife who was browsing the aisles over heard the conversation and came over to make the purchase herself. My wife was not known to the staff but they refused to serve her on the basis that she is connected to me. We are talking about a packet of non prescription, over the counter painkillers. The store manager was called over and she proved to be equally useless. This follows on from a similar experience 6 weeks ago with a different female pharmacist. My mother is 88 and housebound and I tried to buy a packet of 16 paracetamol and a small packet of night nurse tablets on her behalf. This resulted in an embarrassing interrogation in front of customers and they refused to sell me both products at the same time because they both contained paracetamol. I walked out of the shop and bought both of these products at the same time from a proper pharmacy without any issues. I could have bought the night nurse tablets over the counter at Boots from the pharmacist and then paid for 2 packets of paracetamol contactless at the front of the store on the way out which makes a mockery of what the pharmacist did to me. I would add that I queued for quite a while to see the pharmacist as everybody in front of me received a similar interrogation. I thought that I did very well to keep my cool and calm when faced with such incompetence and complete lack of customer skills. Needless to say I would have to be desperate if I ever needed to visit this pharmacy again.

If I could give zero stars I would. The staff have zero customer service and could not care less about customers, it’s like they go out of their way to avoid helping, just standing there chatting to each other. One of the staff members saw me waiting for her at the perfume stand and she quickly disappeared. Not the first time this happens. It seems boots is just employing staff to use the make up stands for themselves and chatting.

Can’t compliment Sophie enough on the makeup section. She was really patient, clearly knowledgeable on the products and promotions going on. Super happy with what we bought, thank you again Sophie!

Just hopeless really !! Phoned Boots Opticians to order a new pair of glasses as had lost mine .. I just wanted to reorder the same frames and exactly same prescription I had before .. purchased approx 12 months ago .. simple you would think but apparently this is impossible to do over the phone because they have to take payment in advance and cannot take card payments over the phone ???? Really? In this day and age? If i want to spend my £200 I have to drive all the way over there to pay in person and order my glasses and then drive all the way over to collect them when they arrive in store Apparently it is impossible for me to order them over the phone and pay in store when I collect them Am a loyal customer too but a very frustrated one who will now be redoubling my search for the lost glasses and may not need to buy any after all !!

Really good experience. I attended having suffered a temporary vision issue. The optician was very thorough explaining what he was checking and what he was finding throughout the examination. Excellent.

As a leading brand this store does not accept NHS prescriptions. Unable to buy over the counter medication due to the pharmacist never being available. Don't waste your time making a special journey as you will be disappointed. OK for shampoo etc

I always find the store tidy, clean and easy to find + friendly staff. It's a big store so naturally has a good selection of products. I have been helped several times by Emma J. on the No. 7 department and she's super friendly, helpful and took the time to do one of those skin tests with me to find me the perfect colour foundation. Always like coming here :-)
