Not a bad cafe, drinks ok, food ok....the clientele, now that's another issue. Im 68 so no spring chicken, but at least I've got manners. This cafe tends to attract older clientele, on four separate occasions today I experienced such ill mannered, rude and horrible old people. Not the cafes fault but needless to say wont be bothering again

We used to come here a lot but last week has put us off. Bacon barm had one piece of bacon in it cut into three pieces. And the sausage and bacon had 2 sausages which was ok but only half a piece of bacon. We took it back , they put 2 extra pieces in the bacon but wouldn’t change the half piece on the other butty. No apology, just an awkward exchange and delay. We’ve since heard after it’s recently changed hands. Obviously new owners trying to cut back. 1 piece of bacon on a barm is a joke !!! And wouldn’t have paid extra for bacon on the sausage if I’d known it would be so stingy.

Usually love it in here will start with the positives coffee and hot chocolate amazing, food just average, but the rude woman serving today with short white blonde hair, wow she was something else, she spoke to the customer before us like rubbish, me and my mum nearly walked out just at that but thought let’s give her a chance, when it came to our turn to be served she was just the same threw our food in the oven like she was doing us a massive favour huffing and puffing , didn’t even greet us with hi how are you it was just throw your food in the oven and shout anything else !! no thank you nothing, kindness costs nothing, you don’t know someone is going through, just be polite, she may need some training in customer service, all the other staff were lovely shame about that one member of staff that may ruin your reputation

Extortionate prices, called in for a pumpkin pie latte….seems you pay for the coffee then extra for the syrup, cream and sprinkles £7.40 for one coffee!!! Definitely won’t be going back!! As the reply from the owner states we were eventually refunded, but only after challenging the price 3 times. It also makes me wonder if we were charged twice, how many others have been and not realised….

Went in thought I’ll have a little treat the pumpkin latte, so got myself & partner a coffee & cake and sat outside with dogs. I thought I’d been charged wrong as it came to over £19 I was thinking could have had two carvery meals for that!!! So I went back in and queried coffee charge being £7.40 per small cup the lady with pink hair said yes that’s correct so went out and said I’m still not happy with that so went in again and said why is it so much, the guy who served me said ‘that’s the price so I queried £7.40 each ‘ to which he replied yes…. So I went out said enjoy your coffee as it is £7.40 per cup it’s extortion even harrods isn’t that expensive. So on my last time I went back in as I really was put out by this and said can you explain why it’s got £3.60 & £3.80 on receipt for one cup as I knew it was wrong and I’d been charged double for both cups eventually he said oh yes you have. So proceeds to tell me I’ll refund to your card but then never asked for card or gave me receipt to say he’d done it so I asked if it’d gone on and he said sorry I don’t know how to do that. He then proceeded to offer me £3.60 cash to which I said check the receipt I bought two so refund £7.20 he never apologised or anything. I am really disappointed especially after the coffee & was so nice, the Bakewell slice was soggy too instead of firm, the granola was lovely. What a disappointing place, especially after all the good reviews. I’m usually the person who compliments people & places but on this occasion I can’t, I’m stunned by the really poor service. PLEASE CHECK YOUR RECEIPTS AND BE PERSISTENT IF YOU THINK ITS WRONG.

Best coffee in the village, toilets are available for all (not just customers). They no longer stock plastic straws, only use paper ones. I do recommend to friends and family. Also staff and manager are lovely
