I arrived very early for a meeting at the neighbouring conference centre. Because I had left home some 3 hours earlier, I was hungry, so I had a cooked Breakfast. I arrived at around 8.15am, 15 minutes after the cafe (which is open to the general public) had opened. My first thoughts were that the food was generally a little too cool. The bacon was super tasty, well cooked and had minimal fat / rind which is just how I like my bacon, I do regret having only 1 rasher instead of 2. However, it went cold quite quickly. The sausage is definitely a step up from "standard catering sausage" and was tasty. Again, I regret having only 1 sausage. The hash brown was a little bit dry for me, but on a positive, that does mean it was not "dripping in fat". The baked bean juice helped to moisten the hash brown. The tomato was lightly seasoned and had a pleasant, if light, "Italianate" taste. The fried bread was excellent and soaked up the left over bean juice perfectly. Unfortunately, mushrooms were not on the menu today. I don't do fried egg, so I can't comment on that, but the fried eggs I saw at the servery did look to be excellent. Pricewise, the standard offering of any 6 items for £5.50 or £6.75 with a drink, is actually very good value today. Considering the quality of the bacon, sausage, etc. the price is outstandingly low. But as I said, a star deducted because the food could have been served a little hotter. In summary, the food was super tasty, but it loses 1 star because it was "warm" and not "piping hot". Importantly, I would be more than happy to eat here again. The service was perfect. Although there was only 1 member of staff on duty when I arrived, the staff member was obliging, polite, pleasant, efficient, answered my questions and gets a 10 out of 10 from me. I did notice that as time progressed, further staff members arrived and all customers appeared to be served in an efficient and timely manner. Overall, unbeatable value for money and the only improvement would be a hotter serving temperature. I'd definitely eat here again.

Can't fault the food or service here. Great range of cold & hot food. Enjoy finding out what the daily specials are. Good portion sizes. Staff always friendly & helpful. Used to love bringing the little ones indoors in the separate play area. Still able to enjoy now with the outdoor seating & covid safe measures.

We use The Heath Cafe about once a week and we’re always greeted by happy and friendly staff who are more than happy to help. Good choice of both Hot and cold food. We especially like the separate children’s area, which is always good to meet up with friends in while the children can run around and play and us Mummy’s can sit and have a Breakfast/lunch and a catch up :)

I've been using the cafe here for about 4 years now and my opinion on this place just keeps getting better and better. From launching my first business stall here at their Christmas market through to taking my toddler for free play sessions, every experience has been exceptional. The food is equisite (I dare you to find a better roast carrot!) and they truly do support the local community (they supported donate a dinner just this Christmas in helping provide containers for people to deliver a home cooked Christmas dinner for those not able to do it for themselves, so simple but it made a huge difference in so many peoples lives). So community minded, great value for money and incredible quality. This is EXACTLY the type of business we should be supporting to keep improving our local community.
