Came here few years ago for afternoon tea and it was fabulous but how things have changed so I am updating my original 5 star review! Food - shop bought items placed on plates produced as an afternoon tea, very disappointed. Fridge in the service counter with lovely big cakes, but yet we were served Mr Kiplings Fancies and Macroons from Lidl... we got just the 1 drink each too not a pot like we've had previously. Place - oh my days it was freezing inside we could see our breath and couldn't even take our coats off to eat. There is a big fire inside but it was not lit! Shelves are half empty and full of dust, not at all festive and no christmas music playing quite sad ambience really as its a gorgeous barn and could be amazing and cosy. We ate up quickly and left food and 1 drink went cold quicker than ever such a shame yhings have changed.

I had the full sized English Breakfast and a very generous pot of tea. The chef had it on the table in no time and it was really hearty and well put together. A side order of toast rounded it off perfectly. A great little find in a spacious barn. The barn could do with a couple of skylights maybe to brighten it up.

Terrible experience… there was no heating and the food was overpriced, greasy and poor quality tea and coffee. We spoke to our waitress about it but she just shrugged.

Came over from the US to visit my boyfriend and we came to this place for brunch and coffee:) we really enjoyed the environment of Fir Tree and ended up staying here just to relax and chat by the fire for much longer x)

Intimate cafe with great outdoor visuals. The experience is dinning in a barn with beautiful scenery. Great views for summer and a log burner in the winter. Would come again. Great brunch and lovely tea and cake.

Cute place. We just had a ice cream and cake that’s okay, not too sweet.

Been here quite a few times and had mixed experiences, sometimes the service is very good and at others it can be diabolical. We've had a few occasions where we've had to wait an age for a coffee and cake, even at quiet times, and others where it's taken just a few minutes. Pleasant place though to sit for a natter over a cuppa and bite to eat.

Lovely place- staff are really friendly, well-decorated, full of character and serving good food with generous portions. They do cake to take away too! Outdoor and indoor seating & pet-friendly. It's a good idea to book ahead, just incase. The shop part seemed quite small, not sure if that was due to COVID but it'd be nice to see some local veggies for sale!
