   Avoid this company. Let use down for part of our entertainment on the day of our wedding. Still hasn't paid us the money back for it and comes up with all sorts of lies. He even offered to pay us back in weekly installments but still hasn't done that. If it's not paid by next week we will be taking him to a small claims court as he's clearly scamming people. He also deletes Facebook comments.

   My partner had the worst experience with this company. AVOID THEM!. Have a read of the other reviews, they’ve removed her Facebook review have fun trying to remove this one. There a large number of people who have had the same experience. No stars if I could. I wish I never contacted or booked them. But this company has been by far the worst I’ve had to deal with. I contacted after their lovely adds on 26 June 2024. Booked them for the magic mirror, cartoon artist and speaker hire (as my venue didn’t have them and it was convenient hiring the same vendor for things). They wanted full payment straight away as my wedding was 2 months lagter, which is fine I sent the whole amount very quickly. This is when the trouble started. Firstly there is no direct number or email to contact them. Just a Facebook messenger chat?? Very strange if you ask me but don’t worry there is always an explanation why Facebook messenger is the only way of contacting them. The 2 months run up to my wedding I asked number of times to send an invoice to my email. Kept saying he would when he’s ’in the office’ in a few days etc etc. never got an invoice. My venue tried contacting number of times to ask them what they needed, they never got in touch with them. Conveniently his ‘phone broke’ and I fail to believe how a grown man cannot get another phone for his business. Anytime I tried to get him to contact my venue I would get an excuse ‘away for the bank holiday’ ‘not in the office’ This is when it gets better. Day of my wedding. He said they be there at 3:30 pm on the day of my wedding. When it came close to 3pm my venue could not contact them. So again I had to message him on Facebook messenger out of all places to see where he was, while I was at my wedding. I AM THE BRIDE AND I AM ON FACEBOOK MESSENGER CHASING A COMPANY. Guess what, the van with the equipment and all ‘STAFF’ had been in a car accident. Bear in mind I booked 3 separate things. So on my wedding day, I didn’t have the speakers, no magic mirror or artist. So I’m supposed to be ok with all this. And also, No communication sent to me. It’s 3.30pm and he’s saying nothing can be done, I had to chase him to find out where the bell they were . So my wedding had no speakers for music. He didn’t even try to find a replacement. But it’s ok he tells me. He said I would get a refund as they are ‘insured’ It’s been 4 weeks. No refund. ‘Insurance’ will send me the money by Friday. No money. He even offered to send the money in breakdowns over a number of weeks starting from ‘next week’. Still no money. Genuinely this company has had me on the whole time. They were never going to come to my wedding, they just exist on Facebook. I’ve had no proof of any insurance claim accident nothing. So AVOID AT ALL COSTS , theyre FAKE! Excuse after excuse after excuse. It’s shocking. I have not had a single penny of my money back yet and no compensation for the mess this whole ordeal and the distress it caused me on my wedding day. I’ve had events before and when things go wrong, the company ALWAYS refund the money immediately, not in Instalments and not by ‘insurance’ and some compensation. Now he wants me to wait ‘7 days’ for the insurance to refund me. Not like he hasn’t said the exact same thing 3 weeks ago and no money has been sent. Oh and he’s on honeymoon this week and this all he can do. But guess what I’m on my honeymoon and I’m waiting weeks for a refund. I can’t wait for a reply from the company or Stephen or whoever these people are. None of what I’ve said is false so I can’t wait for excuses now. If anyone want proof I have the whole chat ready and would be very much happy to share. If you want to end up in small claims court and have no shows and major stress on your wedding day, go ahead and book them

   Honestly, the worst company. Never known communication so poor. Took ages to get confirmation after we paid for the booking in full and the communication during the lead up to the wedding was rubbish too. We paid in full around 10months prior to our wedding a didn't get one of the services we paid for (selfie mirror) on our wedding night which was a massive let down having booked so far in advance. We werent offered any alternatives and I had to chase them after the wedding to ask for refund and find out what was going on. I have had to chase and chase and chase for a refund and was given false information on a number of times. Its been ridiculous and unnecessary stress. I feel like the whole company is a massive scam or just can't run a business.

   Don’t bother using this company - didn’t send us the documents we asked for several times when the venue have been chasing us and were only 5 weeks from our wedding. Got given 3 different excuses and had to chase for a refund too. The stress that I’ve endured through the last 2 weeks of having to chase this ‘company’ is not okay for a bride to deal with

   I used Funky town disco to book the DJ and caricaturist for my wedding in July 2024. Both Reece the DJ and Gremlyn the caricaturist were 5 star and we had so many people comment on how good they were, however due to communication issues I can only rate funky town disco 3 stars. When I first enquired and booked in early 2023 with funky town disco they were fast to respond and answer questions. A year later in March 2024 it took several weeks to get a reply to an email I sent, to be fair they had changed their email address but even after getting their new email address it took a few messages through Facebook messenger to final get a response. With just 10 days to go before my wedding I messaged to find out details of the DJ and caricaturist. I sent the message first think in the morning and got a reply at 9.30 at night to say they would sort the next day. Almost 24 hours later I hadn’t received any update so messaged them again. I got a response straight away saying they had sent me an email and asking if I had not received it and that they would send it on messenger instead. At 1am the next morning I then received details that the DJ would be Mark and the caricaturist would be Sean. I responded within the hour asking if they had contact details for Mark and Sean. 33 hours later I had to chase again. A this point it was Friday and just 1 week till my wedding. I then got a reply to say they would send the details to me on the Monday. Monday came and I heard nothing from Funky Town disco however in the afternoon I received and email from Reece from another company introducing himself as the DJ for my wedding. This left me confused as it was a different name to what Funky town disco had given me but also he was under a different company name. After an email exchange with Reece, he confirmed that funky town disco has booked him through the other company. I had no issues with this, but my frustration was the lack of communication from funky town disco regarding the change. The next day I messaged funky town disco regarding this but also that I was still waiting to hear from the caricaturist. They then told me that they had had to make some changes which meant they had to change the DJ and caricaturist. Less than 48 hours before my wedding I finally had contact with the caricaturist. After reading other reviews of how fantastic this business is with communication, I was not expecting to be chasing them with information just days before my wedding. Luckily, I was never worried about ending up with no one turning up but it was extremely frustrating that I was having to chase them just days before my wedding. When I booked, I was told that I would know who the caricaturist would be almost straight away and the DJ a month before my wedding and so didn’t think it was something a would be stressing over the week of my wedding. Would this put me off using them again or recommending them, no as the DJ and caricaturist were both excellent, the range of services the company offers is very good and they are fairly priced offering good package deals, but I would say be prepared to have to chase them for information after you have booked and paid.
