I was very excited before my visit – the beautiful photos of the place, the views and the attractive package made me look forward to a moment of relaxation. Unfortunately, the reality was far from what I expected. First of all – cleanliness. For a SPA, I expected well-maintained spaces, but it was clear that cleaning is not done daily. In the locker room and showers it was so unpleasant that I gave up the planned bath after the treatments. The receptionist was very kind and tried her best, but it was obvious she couldn’t manage everything on her own. The massage itself (a 45-minute hot stone package) sadly didn’t give me the relaxation I was hoping for. It was difficult to unwind because I could hear conversations going on behind the door the entire time. Also, after comparing experiences with my friend who came with me, I noticed big differences – his massage was much more thorough and detailed, while mine felt very average. The cosmetics they used were also disappointing. I expected pleasant scents and an intensive pampering experience – as is usually the case in a spa – but here I could barely smell anything, even during the masks or creams. The whole place, instead of being filled with relaxing aromas, actually had an unpleasant smell. Another disappointment was the organization. I arrived at 11:45 and, according to the plan, was supposed to have afternoon tea after 4 hours. Unfortunately, it was delayed by over an hour, so I ended up cutting my time in the Thermal area short – I was simply too hungry to keep enjoying the experience. To sum up: the place has great potential – beautiful surroundings and a very friendly receptionist – but it really needs improvement when it comes to cleanliness, quality of treatments, organization, and the cosmetics they use. I was expecting relaxation and a special experience, but left rather disappointed. I truly hope the management takes feedback seriously, because with a bit more effort this place could become something really exceptional.

This was our second visit to Hazlewood Castle Spa. On this occasion (Friday afternoon) it was very quiet and we got parked easily. We first used the steam room and sauna, then the relaxation room before being called for our treatment. My wife had the hot stone massage and I had the back exfoliating mud massage. We both enjoyed our massages.

Beautiful Castle, now hotel! Wonderfully preserved and a joy to stay in - the food was gorgeous and we did a bit of work in the lounge, had a good look in the library and got wowed by the scenery- book a stay if you’re in the area. A real breath of fresh air!

We booked a spa package and overnight stay and it was fabulous. The staff were so friendly and attentive. We were worried about the spa experience as it hadn’t had the best reviews but it was great. The Thermal spa felt cold before went in the sauna and steam but after being in both it was actually nice to be in a cool area. My body massage was brilliant and all my friends had a great treatment too. The castle was beautiful and the food is 5 star. Thanks again and we will be certainly back.

Went for a spa day and afternoon tea. Wonderful experience, the grounds are stunning and well maintained. The spa itself is well organized and very relaxing, loved the mud rasul. Staff all very helpful and attentive in the whole place. Afternoon tea was just enough to fill but not uncomfortable at all. Highly recommend.

Perfect experience. All staff were friendly and helpful, even though the signage wasn't very clear they helped us to the correct part of the Manor for the spa. We got a massage which was very relaxing and helpful, working out aches and pains. They were very skilled and knowledgeable, suggesting afterwards about what we could continue to do to improve our conditions. The Manor is beautiful and the spa experience was very relaxed, no rushing with anything giving us time to enjoy the experience.

Chris the night manager was great - we had quite a large party entering the castle at night. He couldn't do enough for us and provided witty conversation on a range of topics to keep everyone engaged and entertained. A pleasant end to a fab day - would definitely visit again!

Buildings groubd and accommodation is lovely. Very good in that respect. I don't know if this is a cause of covid but the staffing and service was poor. Staff were not sure what they were doing. Standing around even though people wanted service. Albeit only for 15 minutes they ran out of food at breakfast. Poor planning. and we had to chase up for simple things we had asked for - like a cup of tea also no communication about when breakfast serving time was or what was available. Normally in room booklets which obviously are removed for covid. But not on the hotel guest app which you are invited to download as the alternative.

I booked the mid serail treatment with 45 mins relaxation and afternoon tea then paid extra for my boyfriend to have a massage. This was all booked for the day of his birthday. On the morning of his birthday (the day we were going to imagine spa) we had a call to cancel the massage as the therapist had a family emergency. I asked to cancel the massage and for a refund and thank god we did as when we got to imagine spa the door to outside was open meaning the spa reception area and where changing rooms are was cold, it wasn’t clean (the toilets were dirty), the relaxation room was a couple of chairs in a room with some music on (dated and no way spa luxury you’d expect), the carpets needed a good hoover. Overall it was a let down. We asked for our prosecco before our treatment, this was sat waiting for us after we finished our mud treatment so was Luke warm. Once finishing the mud treatment you’re wet from washing the mud off so as you can imagine walking to the changing rooms through the cold reception was awful. I was frozen! I’m really unhappy with the service and the spa itself and would recommend to AVOID at all costs. Afternoon tea - the sandwiches were slightly stale round the edges and we sat in the library where all the tables were dirty and had dirty plates on yet no one was sat in there. When the girl brought us our food she walked past the dirty plates and left them. There was no ‘service’, we were given our afternoon tea then we didn’t see a waitress again and no one came to check everything was ok. Very disappointing.
