   Had to wait 10 mins to get served, then a short wait in yard waiting for a person to become free. Wanted a sheet of marine ply, only one on shelf which was damaged and I refused to accept. Helper in yard then had to ask another person to fetch more ply from storage on a fork lift. 2nd man wasn’t happy with request and a row ensued. After 20 minutes wait, wood finally came. Not a customer friendly/ professional approach. All rather chaotic.

   We found the service excellent from beginning to end. In the initial visit, time and care was taken to listen to our design likes, and the way our family uses the kitchen and utility room space. From here, they advised us on the best products that would suit our price and needs. They visited our property and took time to look at our architect’s drawings, and were able to visualise and plan a really great design, even though the house needed a lot of renovations, including walls being removed etc. I was really pleased that we were able to obtain samples when our build was nearing completion. This meant I could colour match paint, accessories and splash backs. Additionally, Kris kindly updated computer renders to help us decide on accessories. Overall, the service was excellent and great value. The kitchen and utility room supplied is beautiful quality and the design/layout is perfect.

   I lost count of the number of kitchen retailers I had already looked at/met with before realising that Howarth Timber did them too. Having been generally unimpressed by most of his competitors, Kris Kingsley won me over straight away - extremely knowledgeable, local to the area, easy to talk to, a good listener and most importantly, he wanted to work with me, not sell to me. The York showroom is good because it does not overdo it in terms of choice but you can configure anything with the samples available. Kris made a point of visiting us early in the process to fully understand my family's needs and following a handful of meetings to make adjustments as the project progressed, we have ended up with a stunning, affordable kitchen that adds significant value to our house (not that we're selling..). Don't bother looking elsewhere, Kris and Howarth are totally recommended for service, quality and affordability.
