   A lovely pub with friendly staff and decorated beautifully for Christmas. Have to say though I was a bit disappointed with today's meal. I think for £21 you should maybe at least get some veg or salad with your steak. The lasagne was gorgeous but again would be nicer accompanied with some garlic bread maybe.

   Went to the Royal Alfred for lunch. I was impressed with the Christmas decor inside, really nice. Every wall had beautiful lights with Turquoise and Gold baubles. We both had fish, chips and mushy peas. It was lovely and well presented by very pleasant staff. A bit more pricey than other places in the town, but so much nicer, the menu looked good also. Would definitely recommend and go again to try something else on the menu. Don't know if it has a carpark, but parked in the station opposite, was a bit worried about that, as I don't think you're supposed to park there. Needed to park nearby due to mobility problems.

   Probably the best Sunday roast in town! Food is absolutely delicious, good quantity and reasonably priced. The place is under new management and ownership, it has been refurbished and is the new place to go in town!

   Great ale. However people allowed to smoke (vape) in the pub. Even staff behind the bar are doing it. I find this quite astonishing. Its smoking. They even have a smoking area outside. Had to leave. Sadly wont be going back.

   A really organised friendly pub, with the current COVID-19 measures. Staff are probably the friendliest ive met in the current situation. Keep up the great work. Definately going to return.
