Went for some food on our lunch break, had a warm welcome from the staff on, ordered on the app and drinks were over with in seconds. My steak was cooked to perfection. Lovely pub and the staff where very welcoming will be back
Food was decent, didn’t touch the coleslaw though it was warm and watery look like it had been stood for a while. Staff fine, first time i visited here I left as there was no room whatsoever as it was rammed. But went today and only 25% full so enjoyed it. Would go again.
Love the venture, staff are great but got to say food was a little disappointing. last night. Went for a safe option of fish and chips. Fish was really overcooked and very dry. We were never asked if everything was OK and I didn't complain due to the pub being so busy. Just hope it's better next time as the fish is usually very nice.
Lovely atmosphere as soon as you walk through the door. There were quite a few of us let down by another venue ( not their fault) but we were quickly accommodated. All staff were lovely and so nice , we were all made to feel welcome. We ordered food and drink via app and from the bar which was really prompt, hot and delicious. Portions were excellent and so was the quality. We will definately be regulars now!
Just had a lovely meal at The Venture in Highfield. Amazing food and lovely staff. Highly recommend. Best steak I've had in a long time.

One of the worst experiences in a pub : table was not ready at time of arrival even if the reservation was made weeks prior, moved twice , table not cleaned until complained about it and finally, the festive meal for which I booked was not available because the pub did not even know about it, even if the confirmation email stated festive meal booking . Just asked for my deposit back and left. Would never set foot in this pub again
Pleasantly surprised finding this gem, although quite this Saturday afternoon, the atmosphere was jolly, great choice of food at reasonable prices, I had a sharing platter and it was delicious, the hamburgers look delicious. Great place for watching sport, having a couple drinks and playing some pool. A great all rounder!
Eat outside review! So booked a table for the family to go and eat outside on the fairly large decking. Ordered through the app for food and drinks. Very quick with the drinks and the food was very reasonable wait time. Service from staff was great. Food was excellent, some dishes have the ceramic type plates that keep the food hot which was great seeing as it was a tad chilly outside. Plenty of choice available and all food was fresh and cooked well as you'd expect. Pictures include my meal which was the mixed grill all items cooked very well as in good, Thoroughly enjoyed it they've not lost their touch not being open. Good selection of drinks and desserts available too. The hot fudge cake was proper cake and definitely served hot which is also great portion size very good too. If eating need to track and trace which is fine. And also book ahead not sure if it's mandatory but definitely advisable. All tables have a parasol but no large covering so just bear that in mind. Overall well worth going and great to be able to eat out again. Thanks for the hard work in reopening efficiently and safely!!
