   Came for a family birthday. Service not up to scratch. Waited 15+mins for drinks that lost the ticket. No fresh cutlery after the starters. Speaking of starters 9 pounds for a tandori chicken skewer that even the waiter was embarresed to serve. 3 tiny cubes of chicken that was rock solid and inedible We had to get our own cutlery as they brought the mains out with no cutlery on the table. Mains chips oily and unedible Steaks not cooked to how requested. Poor throughout

   A very homely place which is brilliant for family meals. Amazing staff and lovely customer service by isabelle. A big well done to the chefs as the food was delicious!! Will definitely be coming back.

   This pub was so cozy and adorable. The food and beer were great and the staff were all super friendly. As this was my first time in the area, it was definitely a pleasant surprise to stumble upon. I would highly recommend this to anyone. It is in a very accessible area and very quiet and peaceful. We will definitely be going again if we get the chance!!! Thank you Sandpiper for being a little hidden gem of our trip!!!!!

   I’m really baffled by the reviews, feel like we were in a different pub. Our experience was really underwhelming . The Sandpiper looks the part but the food was very under par. My fries were cold and overcooked so there was basically no potato inside of them. My other half had the chunky chips which were hot but once again really overcooked and dry. I had the chicken burger which was sloppy and the breadcrumb was overcooked, brown and hard around the edges. Service was also very slow, waited ages for drinks. Told the waitress my fries were horrible and she offered to replace them and I said I didn’t fancy more fries now because I was put off. Wasn’t offered any discount off bill. Food was like it was frozen and reheated, definitely not what I expect for a £17.50 chicken burger and chips. Been here in the past and always have good reviews, this experience puts me off returning.

   We drove 45 minutes to this place due to very good reviews. The environment is fantastic. We have been seated 45 minutes late. The three courses were absolutely lovely. The manager does not like getting any complaints. Thank you for the good food, but I do not think it is worth driving this far.

   The food and dining experience was excellent here. A lovely cosy pub in a great setting with an open fire roaring away. The food was excellent, I had the sea bass I highly reccomended it. Our server jack was very tentative and friendly without being intrusive. 10 out of 10

   Called in on the 13.08.22 for the first time to grab some tea after having a busy day out in nearby Southport however being massively disappointed is truelly a understatement by receiving cold, poor and overpriced food. Whilst there were other customers it was never heavily busy and as such I don't understand why it took over an hour for our food to be cooked when looking at what arrived on our plate would of probably took 20mins max. I was the only one from our party which ordered a starter which was pan fried scallops and king prawns costing near enough £10. On arrival it was evident the 4no of prawn situated on the plate were in fact not king prawns whatsoever and just your standard size prawn and the 3no scallops tasted days old, overall poor quality, cold and way overpriced ! Next the kids meals came, my daughters lasagne was abit overcooked but other than that no issues really however my lad ordered the pork sausages which came out cremated, with that whoever dished the plate strategically placed the worst side of the sausage face down. We politely asked to have another batch sent out which whilst weren't as bad, were still burnt, again very disappointed. I ordered the 10z Sirloin steak which when arrived I was actually disgusted of what came on the plate and how much I had paid for such a poor quality meal. I asked for medium rare Sirloin and what turned up was well done pan frying steak which is an insult, the onion rings were of poorly quality, the sauce was gloopy. I wouldn't of even given this to my dog !!! My partner ordered a lasagne and whilst she ate it with no issues it was only whilst she was finishing off identified a small hair within her dish, this was the final straw for us I'm afraid! To summarise, our experience yesterday of the sandpiper was very very poor which concluded of poor food quality with ridiculous prices and with this, unfortunately I would never return back here !

   Always visited here for drinks and enjoyed it, especially being sat outside in the summer. Visited today for dinner, I enjoyed it and the food was good but it was £6.25 for 3 scrawny wings which was an insult. Also, the burger came with onion rings, but the onion rings were honestly pathetic & small. Enjoyed myself, but just didn’t come away as happy as I should have as the food I mentioned above left a sour taste in my mouth (so to speak).
