Rather glum and musty pub. Only accepts cash. Only one real ale available. Seen better days. Don't think it will see many more which is a pity as apart from the general air of neglect it looks quite quaint.
If you like proper trad pubs which haven’t changed in years and conversation is king, here’s one. A real friendly place.
Could have been a pleasant experience in a small traditional pub but place was run down and not very clean, glasses were dirty, beer was off.
The staff were great, just the place is in need of sprucing up, it was very dark inside. The accommodation was down in the grotty section, very cheap but not clean, old plates and dishes left in the room.
Great traditional pub, a log warming fire, a great pint or two of handled pulled traditional bitter.
Great old pub. Great landlord,s Great beer. And most importantly made to feel very welcome.
Lovely pub nice customers drinks not always what you want . Needs a refurbishment. New carpets
3.40 pints are a dream when you're in from the city prices. Lovely staff and some outdoor seating. Been a few times and will be back
