    I have a mission to try and compare breakfast / tea service in luxury hotels. Follow me and see how far I can go! Mandarin Oriental Hyde Park's breakfast place has a nice ambience. It's well designed so that you can sit for a long time comfortably in their sofas. I've ordered Lychee tea and sourdough toast. Do not expect speedy service. Tea was good, without the teabag hanging in the pot. The toast was thickly sliced and toasted. Some might like it yet I avoided most of the burnt corners. It was a great experience although it can get quite crowded at peak breakfast hours.

    I haven’t felt such disappointment for a long time. On Saturday morning I decided to have breakfast with my two sons at the Mandarin Hotel restaurant as we live next door building. Three young girls on reception to the restaurant were extremely rude and arrogant. They didn’t want to let us in and kept telling us that we had to spend 50 pounds for breakfast. I have not seen such contempt and arrogant attitude in any place in London for a long time. As a result, we spent 700 pounds for breakfast, but we will never return, because this attitude is unacceptable towards people, no matter how dressed they are

Free from the noise and traffic of Knightsbridge, the breakfast selection is exceptional and the service is as you would expect from the Mandarin Oriental.
