   I never leave reviews but I’ve been blown away by the helpfulness, kindness and quality of the product from Bingley stone. Jaiq and Greg made HUGE efforts to help get beautiful York stone quickly and nothing was too much to ask. Can’t recommend them more highly.

   There are only a handful of online reviews for Bingley Stone, but they are generally good. Unfortunately, over two separate orders, my experience has been very different. The issue is not with the stone, but with the customer service offered by their Sales Manager around delivery and when things go wrong. My first order, late in 2019, was for two pallets of setts to be delivered to ground level inside my property boundary. When it arrived the stone had been packed on pallets that were too flimsy to hold the stone so the edges dragged on the ground when the driver tried to move them onto my drive. He got stuck in the entrance to my driveway and couldn’t move backwards or forwards so he had to dump two pallets, blocking the entrance so no cars could go in or out and I had to drop all my plans for the day to move a couple of tonnes of stone by hand. I called the Sales Manager, Gary. There was no apology. He said he would have to look into it and come back to me. I never heard anything back from him. Two years later, early in 2022, when I was starting a large project, I decided to give Bingley Stone another try. I placed an initial order for another two pallets of setts to be delivered kerbside. Bingley Stone called to arrange a date and time for delivery and I organised people to be available to deal with the delivery. At 3pm on the day before I received a phone call out of the blue from a delivery driver saying he had the two pallets for me. As I had organised everything for the following day, I said I couldn’t take delivery that day. Shortly afterwards I received a phone call from the Sales Manager, Gary, to say, quite aggressively, that he couldn’t understand why I wouldn’t take delivery, that he was doing me a favour by delivering a day earlier and if I didn’t accept the delivery I wouldn't be able to get the stone until the following week (even though they were the ones who had told me they wanted to deliver the following day). I tried to explain why delivering a day early without any phone call or warning wasn’t doing me any favours, but he simply refused to accept it. Eventually I managed to extract a begrudging apology before he hung up on me halfway through a sentence. I left things to settle for 24 hours before making two attempts to contact Gary to see if there was any basis for me placing any more orders with them. Both attempts to contact him have been ignored. So, after two bad experiences, I still have several tens of thousands of pounds of stone to order and none of it will be going the direction of Bingley Stone. The thing is, he has done me a favour really because I am finding I can get great stone cheaper from other local suppliers and they only charge about a third of what Bingley Stone charge for delivery. I have just taken my first delivery and it went very smoothly.

   Superb service and good prices. They helped us find some reclaimed stone pieces that were just right and then accurately sawed them up whilst we waited and put them in the car with polystyrene between them. They do all sorts of stone cutting. Prices were very reasonable.
