   Stopped for a drink after waking from Ainsdale with our doogs. Friendly staff only too happy to give them a huge bowl of water and provide us with much needed beverages.

   Didn’t even get a drink because the woman serving at the bar was so rude. Told us in a very snarky way that me and my sister needed ids even though we were buying soft drinks. She kept rudely insisting that we show her our ids while we were in the process of getting them out. Had no issue with the rule at all but she could’ve been a lot friendlier. The pub was pretty much empty so I assume she treats everybody that way. The atmosphere was like a morgue as well with a stench of urine filling the air. Would rather drink out of a muddy puddle than ever attempt to get a drink there again.

   1 star is too generous for this place. Faint odour of urine upon entering… dark and depressing atmosphere… didn’t even get close to ordering a drink as the woman behind the bar dismissed our group for looking “too young” before we had even had a chance to produce our IDs (went in with my mum, brother and boyfriend. Youngest of us is 19 and had his license in his pocket). I’d rather lick the bottom of my shoe than step foot in this pub again.

   Big room + side room + rear beer garden. Good feel to the pub. Real ales + staff excellent.prices Good. High ceiling comfortable seating.

   Lovely atmosphere in the old bank. My only rant would be. A famous grouse whisky was ruined because the lemo that was added was flat. It did get sorted right away once the problem was brought to light.

   Nice pub, decent ale, only ruined by an obnoxious so called manager, rude and arrogant. If i could give zero stars i would, definitely a pub to avoid i'm afraid

   Staff need retraining, especially the older barmaid. I was in there on Tuesday with my wife and daughter (24 yrs old by the way) when my daughter was asked to produce ID for proof of age. The fact that she was only drinking Coca-Cola anyway wasn't even considered!! I've visited many times over the years but I won't be coming back any time soon!
