The staff here are amazing, the food is delicious and cooked to perfection. I had stopped coming here as years ago as it went very poor but now the acorn is outstanding. Every member of staff is amazing but today the extra special touch was by Grace and Ryan!
We absolutely love coming to the quiz nights! Simon is a fantastic quiz master. He keeps the whole evening fun, light-hearted, and full of laughs. He has a real knack for keeping everyone engaged, whether you’re a seasoned quizzer or just coming for something to eat. What makes it even more special is how Simon and the whole team always look out for our family. They genuinely go the extra mile to make sure we’re comfortable and having the best time possible. It’s welcoming, friendly, and something we all look forward to. A brilliant quiz, a brilliant host, and wonderful staff. Couldn’t recommend it more!
Five Stars for the Acorn Pub! I had such a fantastic evening at the Acorn last night. From the moment we walked in, the atmosphere was welcoming and lively. Zoe, the manager, deserves a special shout-out—she’s an absolute star. Her friendly, down-to-earth approach made everyone feel at home, and you can tell she genuinely cares about her guests having a great time. The quiz was the highlight of the night: well-organized, perfectly paced, and packed with clever questions that kept our team on our toes. It struck the perfect balance of fun and challenge, and Zoe’s enthusiastic hosting made it even more entertaining. If you’re looking for a pub with brilliant service, a friendly crowd, and a quiz night that’s second to none, the Acorn is a must-visit. A sizzler pub, the same as The Swan. But more pleasant staff and the breakfast is cooked properly. You can swap what you don't like for more of what you do, like with unlimited toast at no extra cost. The coffee is self top-up every day. Mark is a great cook, the best. 10 Sep 2025. After two years the atmosphere has only improved. Mark still takes much care and prepares the best breakfast. It's a pleasure to have breakfast here most days of the week.
There were 15 of us. We had booked a week ago. Everything went very smoothly and there was a happy atmosphere. Staff were pleasant and efficient.. Everything was hot and they were very quick. I would totally recommend this place for a get together.
We have found our new family get together spot. We were a table of 6, and we are all fussy about our food. The food was fantastic, really good sized portions and everything was delicious. We all enjoyed it. Food and drink are both very reasonably priced. The young lady who served us at the bar, Tash, is an absolute breath of fresh air. Genuinely engaging with the customers, and remembered our table number when we didn't, as well as the wine that one of our party ordered previously when we forgot to ask them. She event went out of her way to find a candle for the birthday girls cake and had the entire place sing her happy birthday. Great job guys, we will most definitely be back again.
Would like the say a massive thank you to the lovely young lady called Tash, my friend and I popped in there last for a drink with our doggies, she made us feel so welcome and made a big fuss over our dogs who loved her. This made our night as we had a not so nice experience in another local pub were we had been treated so rudely. You have a true gem working there, will go again for sure
We visit The Acorn quite often due to my daughter loving the food here. We always have a good experience. Tash has been there several times and is always gives the best service. Other staff are friendly and welcoming
The staff are so helpful. For a chain pub the food was fine. Can't really say a bad thing about the place other than it's too far to walk home from. Tash was a brilliant waitress.
