“If taste buds could dance, mine were definitely doing the reggae at Turtle Bay in Liverpool. The food? Absolute yum! The staff were friendly, fast, and somehow managed to keep their cool even while balancing trays of food that looked like works of art. They made us feel like VIPs… or at least VIBs (Very Important Bellies) The vibe is laid-back, colourful, and the kind of place where you could happily enjoy a tummy full meal.”

“Had a brilliant night celebrating my sister's 60th birthday and my daughters. The staff were attentive and sangria flowed along with the chat, laughs and food. As we were there for birthday celebrations, the girls were treated to birthday cake(cheesecake) topped with a large sparkler, hats, music and singing waiters. A fabulous night out with the girls.”

“We have been here so so many times and have never been dissapointed and tonight was no exception. Having not been for while (due to illness) the manager made such a fuss as he hadn't seen us for a while. The food is always the best standard I've tasted outside of turkey itself! The staff are magnificent, so welcoming and always have a conversation and chat. The girl who served us is a credit to the place too, she has amazing people and service skills. Thanks for making such a fuss of dad for his birthday you don't know much it meant for us to get him there tonight. You really did make his day.”

“My first time here and it was superb. Three of us, wife, one of our children and myself. Food was brilliant and fairly priced, lighting in particular was just right. We are all a little neuro spicy and the right lighting is very important. Helen in particular was a delight. Welcoming, pleasant and knowledgeable about the product. My wife always asks for recommendations and not everyone everywhere can give an informed and interesting answer. Helen was all over it.”

“We have just returned home from Thornton Hall after a fabulous wedding anniversary meal. The service, especially from Carl, was delightful. Carl was so lovely and we enjoyed chatting with him and having a few giggles along the way. His attentiveness was just right. We had champagne, oysters and lobster ravioli for starters, the bisque with the ravioli was divine. Then we both had the roast beef Sunday lunch. The beef was perfectly pink, the Yorkshire was lovely and crisp and the beef jus was deep and rich in flavour, it really pulled the meal together. Thanks to the fabulous chefs. I had the lemon meringue pie for dessert and my husband had a cheese board. We shared of course and both were amazing, the meringue on the pie was delicious. We also had fabulous service from another server, we didn’t catch her name sorry but Carl handed us over to her when his shift ended, which a lovely touch. Highly recommend for a special occasion, it was faultless.”

“Even though I have been for a few nights out in Parkgate during the last few years, I've only just gone in to The Red Lion! I wasn't sure what to expect but oh wow...I was pleasantly surprised and had a wonderful evening. It is warm, welcoming and friendly from the start. There is a cosy open log fire, a vast array of drinks to choose from, good wines, great non-alcoholic beer selection and comfy seats. We were a few seats short for our group but the manager went out of his way to re-arrange a few things and make it work for us...and he did so with a smile and a great attitude. He made sure to talk to the locals and overall this place just has that really honest, decent feeling you want from a local pub. It's recently been redecorated I believe and it looks really great in there, there is also plenty of outdoor seating to enjoy the stunning Parkgate view. This pub is a must on your visit to Parkgate.”

“Hired this venue for a birthday party. Owner extremely helpful organising food DJ karaoke and accessories. The party was enjoyed by everyone who attended street food was fantastic lighting set the miid and dj/ karaoke Steve worked hard to include everyone. I have been to this venue before and will definitely use it again. Recommended”

Even with a last-minute booking due to issues at another restaurant, the staff were incredibly accommodating and made us feel welcome from the moment we walked through the door. The scent of BBQ and charcoal filled the air as we entered, which instantly got my taste buds excited. Sitting us down close to the window enhanced our experience. My wife enjoyed a refreshing glass of pink gin and lemonade while I indulged in a pint of the Efes. The staff went above and beyond to ensure we had a wonderful time, providing helpful recommendations from the menu. Before our main dishes arrived, the staff surprised us with freshly baked bread and dips, which was a delightful touch. The Chefs platter was suggested, and it was a delicious and plentiful mix of BBQ'd meat that left me feeling completely satisfied. Overall, it was an incredibly enjoyable and friendly evening. One of the group has good allergies & they were amazing with this, spoke to the chef and she was accommodated without any problem. The early bird menu is so good and brilliant prize, portions are great. I will be back very soon, I highly recommend trying it.”

“First time came today to see what restraunt like. It was new years eve not many in at time I went but was really good breakfast. I went for American breakfast was really nice so good couldn't eat all but was good. Hope never cause upset taking dishes to counter when finished I always do in restraunts nothing against lady serving us , it's my may of doing things when enjoyed something. I noticed restraunt disabled accessibke, my partner drives power chair I said to her it had ramp she looking forward to going do you think Power chair be able to get under desks or accessibke we will come and try she would live brickies, glad tried today been meaning to last few weeks all best new year”
