“Visited for brunch on 3rd March. We regularly visit this restaurant. There is always a warm, inviting atmosphere that practically guarantees a good experience. The food is fantastic. It is usually necessary to pre-book. The chef, Billy is very good humoured and welcoming. Service is great and wait time is low. Highly recommend.”

“An excellent venue, with well-tgought-out decor, a lovely ambience, great service and very good food. Well worth a visit. It's in the Manor House Hotel where they also have a spa and a swimming pool (apparently with a swim-up bar!) so you could tie the experience in with a getaway break. We didn't, we just ate, but it was a really nice place to go and reasonably priced, too.”

“Had an absolutely incredible dining experience at The New Dun Cow Bar & Grill! The star of our visit was their spectacular sharing platter of grilled meats. Every piece was cooked to perfection, with flavors that simply exploded in your mouth. The quality and freshness of the ingredients really stood out - you could tell they source their meats with care. What made this platter special was the variety and attention to detail in preparation. Each meat had its own distinct seasoning and char, while maintaining perfect tenderness. The portions were generous, making it ideal for sharing and sampling different cuts. The atmosphere complemented the meal perfectly, and the staff were attentive without being intrusive. This place has definitely earned a spot on my list of favorite restaurants. Already planning my next visit - this sharing platter is too good to have just once! Must-try for anyone looking for top-notch grilled meats in a welcoming atmosphere. Outstanding value for the quality you receive.”

“Very atmospheric place, very traditional old Shrewsbury, loved the gorgeous leaded windows, the old stone work etc. We were well looked after by Ash who went 'above and beyond', (thank you), lovely chap. He looked after 12 of us extremely well.... I was a bit surprised it was just Ash' on his own. Nothing was too much troubke. Management need to pay him more. I thought the background music was lovely, plus lovely NOT to get the cheesy Christmas music. PS Excellent liaison pre-event with Tamara by email. THANK YOU. (There were12 of us in the party).”

“Amazing food and friendly service, not badly priced but the atmosphere could be improved slightly. It's very well decorated and has a nice vibe but the lighting is really bright, it could feel a lot cosier if it was a little softer with the lights. A great place to eat though.”

“Visited for lunch on a Thursday afternoon. The menu is diverse and the food is excellent. Service was mixed - one of the waitresses was good but the other wasn’t great (ignored us at the bar etc). But overall a good experience and we’d definitely return!”

“The value, flavour, portion sizes, taste...how do you feed a family of 4 for less than £30...this place is deffo worth a visit if you are in town. It's clean, and comfortable and if you have a buggy be mindful that the larger seating area is downstairs.Cash only so maybe one thing they could improve on but worth the trip to cash point for what you get.”

“Went today 1/10/25 for carvery lunch. Not been the Plough for a couple of years. The bar staff friendly. The carvery selection was excellent and nice and hot. Also I noticed the server of carvery was checking the meats with a thermometer and writing it down. The waitress Emma was very friendly. We will recommend the Plough and most certainly be returning again.”

“Walked into a very traditionally styled pub/restaurant. Bar staff were very friendly with quick service on a Friday afternoon. Ordered food and drinks. Of course we got a great offer with a full card of stamps from the loyalty app. Food service was quick and servers were super friendly and couldn't do enough for us. I'd like to give them ladies a special mention and thank you for making our visit very pleasant indeed. Overall very pleased and shall be returning soon.”

“Opens at 12, best to arrive around then as it can get busy later. Great selection of food available with a kids menu as well. Food is served quickly and even when busy you do not have to wait long. The staff are friendly, helpfull and quick to clean the tables. Lots of space inside with seating outside as well. Good atmosphere. Great value for money. Regular buses on the road by the carpark.”

A big thank you for staff to Sophie and Lbby for their warm, caring, and professional attitude. They were incredibly kind, attentive, and made sure everything ran smoothly. The atmosphere was lovely, the kids had so much fun, and we as parents felt relaxed and at ease. I highly recommend this place for children’s parties!”

“Popped in for a traditional pint of ale while over from Australia visiting my father in hospital. The old style interior added a rustic charm, typical of what you hope to find in an English pub. Didn't eat while I was there but the menu on the table looked like a good selection of pub classics at reasonable prices. Next time I'm in the area I'm definitely going back to the Windmill.”
