“Had a fantastic evening with 3 friends tonight. This place is a hidden gem in Erdington and I will be back regularly. The food is amazing and tasty and arrives to the table very hot. Each person is catered for perfectly and cood how we like it. I had massala fish starter and it was hot tasty and a nice crispy coating then mixed grill for one as my main. This was also delicious and included 3 fish pacoras 3 wings 3 sheish kebabs and 3 big chunks of tandoori chicken. It's well worth it and very good value. 4 people had starter and mains with 2 drinks each for under £80. Restaurant was very clean and complied well with covid compliance Thanks again for the great food and good night”

From the moment we walked in, the atmosphere felt warm, welcoming, and full of positive energy. The staff greeted us with genuine smiles and made us feel completely at home right away. Now, let’s talk about the food — because wow! The mixed grill was absolutely phenomenal. Every single item on the platter was cooked to perfection — tender, juicy, and packed with incredible flavor. You can really tell that the chefs take pride in their cooking. The fish was another highlight — fresh, perfectly seasoned, and grilled just right. It honestly melted in the mouth. It’s rare to find a place that nails both meat with such consistency, but Merrymaid absolutely does. The service was top-notch throughout our visit. , the food came out hot and fresh, and the servers were attentive without being intrusive. What really impressed me, though, was the personal touch — the owner, Ranjit, personally came over to our table to ask how everything was. That kind of attention and care speaks volumes about how much pride he takes in his restaurant and how much he values his customers. It’s not just a meal here — it’s an experience. Everything about this place says quality — from the cleanliness of the restaurant to the presentation of the food and the friendly, family-like vibe that makes you want to stay longer. You can tell the whole team truly cares about what they do, and it shows in every detail. We will be back to try the curry. Merrymaid Bar and Grill is the place to go. “As soon as we walked in we were greeted by Stacey, she was kind, attentive and lovely. We sat by a guarded fire which was cozy and warm. Our food came out quickly, it was very tasty and greatly priced too. Definitely coming back soon. Great experience x”

“I ordered in via Deliveroo while I was staying at The Premier Inn North Birmingham (Sutton Coldfield). Service was rapid and the food….firstly, I could not decide from the menu; everything looked delish! When I finally decided, I ordered more than I needed. Man! I just about chewed my fingers off. I loved how rich the food was. I think I got lamb and paneer spinach with naan, but it doesn’t even matter. Just check out the photos. Now I’m hungry (just for this food).”

Friendly and welcoming staff, restaurant nicely decorated and big screen TVs all around so great for having a meal and beers while watching the sports. Quick turnaround from placing the order to food being served on the table. Large mixed grill would happily do three people.”

“Kareoke and Dj every Sunday 3pm till 6pm. Restaurant seating are towards the back, good bar with a nice selection of beer, cider and spirits. Food is delicious every time I've ordered having tried the Crispy Chilli Chios before, which were delicious, this time around I opted for Honey Chilli Chips, Chicken Tikka and Poppadoms with sauces. The chips were a chefs recommendation, they were fantastic, I'm glad he did so. Service is always friendly and that love surely goes into the food. It is very flavourful each time and I cannot resist the temptation to grab another dish when I am here. Thank you very much, really enjoyed.”

“Picked up some food from here today and I've literally never had such a pleasant experience. The staff were lovely and the place itself was spotlessly clean. The food was brilliant and so full of flavour, compared to the standard mixed grill pubs this was definitely top quality food. I highly recommend the butter chicken and the chilli naan to go with it. Will definitely visit again soon!”

“The Keg & Grill serves curry within the setting of a traditional English pub set up. The atmosphere here is always great, whether busy or quiet and I have always found the staff to be friendly and helpful. There offer a limited menu but there doesn't need to be a lot of choice because what they do provide is enough regardless of whether you want a snack or a proper meal you are sure to find something to your liking here. Come here if you want to spend an evening chilling with mates at the pub but want the option of good food without having to leave to source it.”

“What a meal! Simply stunning food. The Church should be sold out every day such is the quality of the food here, I can't believe it wasn't busier. Everything we had was superb, but the beef Sunday roast was one of the best I've had in a restaurant in a long time. We were very greedy and shared three starters too, which were all delicious but probably a bit too much food in total for just the two of us. Nevermind, nothing went to waste! My only criticism was the toasted sourdough was a bit crispy, and I'd have loved the scotch egg to have a runny yolk. But these are minor points in an otherwise perfect meal with faultless service from the great staff.”

The Chicken Karahi , Garlic Naan and Rice was first class as well as the Shish Kebabs... Kids had Fish fingers and chips, after they were done with the freely available colouring crayons and activities. We got our sanity back for the hour and all in all well worth the visit ...and what's more if you're frightened of missing the football then fear not because there are TVs high up for you to keep an eye on the game .”

The food was truly delicious and with the price, I was full after my main and dessert. The chef puts in exceptional effort and so does Fernie with her cocktail talents.
