“It was nice to return to this hotel, as everything runs so smoothly. From check-in in the early hours of the morning, Simon was extremely helpful and explained everything about meals, through to the ladies greeting everyone at Breakfast. The bar staff were also great on the last night, even when the queue was approx 30 people long after a show at the Arena. They remained calm and super efficient. Thank you everyone!”

“Staff where lovely, food was delicious and the beer was cold. I little bit expensive for the portion sizes but hey, airport prices I guess. I think the chicken and bacon in the salad would have been nice if it was warm but I suppose it makes sense to have it cold in a salad. These are minor complaints however for such good food, drinks and service.”

“We had met up with friends and furry paws after a lovely walk along the coastal path from Crosby. We booked in for lunch for 4 adults and 2 children and a happy pup! The Hightown Inn was really lovely, very friendly, and had the most delicious lunchtime menu. The staff were very attentive and helpful, offering recommendations of dishes on the menu, which were spot on. The New Potato Salad with added Smoked Salmon was delicious. The children opted for pizzas outside, which were Woodfired and scrumptious, washed down with Lemonades! On a very warm Saturday lunchtime, we'd been seated in a lovely, cool, relaxing dinning area, and our experience of this welcoming Pub was brilliant. Most definitely return again soon. Thank you.”

“We visited The Mallard for early lunch Friday 6/6. My Mum had fish & chips and I had the pie (steak & ale). The food was fabulous, so tasty & fresh. But the real star of the show was Lyndsey! She had such a friendly demeanour. She welcomed us and all others with a smile and nothing was too much trouble for her! She was working alone front of house… but had it running like clockwork. She checked in on us just enough and was never overpowering. I can’t really comment on the atmosphere as there were only 4-5 tables in, but judging by the boards saying ‘What’s on’ - live music etc I’m sure it would be fantastic! We will be returning for sure!!”

“Bought the afternoon tea voucher on Wowcher. It was £29 for an afternoon tea set for 2 with two cocktails as well. I absolutely love this afternoon tea because it is different. Not a huge fan of traditional British afternoon tea as they are mainly sandwiches, scones and cakes only, too sweet for me. Prefer more savoury food items like this one. Beef sliders, onion rings, cheesy tots, chicken tenders are perfect finger food, great for kids and adults and everyone. Staff is attentive, met my dietary requirements of no chocolate. Drinks are delicious as well and of great variety! Will definitely come back. Highly recommend here if you are near the docks in Liverpool!”

“Visited here for a family birthday celebration as part of a group of 13 people. The place is just amazing inside, with fantastic views and a great outdoor area for when the weather is nice. The food, atmosphere, staff were all exceptional too. Food all served at same time, which is not as easy as you'd think for a large group. The staff were charming, happy and couldn't do enough to make our night memorable for all the right reasons. All in all, it was a brilliant night and I would highly recommend and will definitely be going back for our next special occasion.”

“We had our staff team meal last week and have been to the New Albion several times since it has changed management. We’ve had various meals, particularly enjoying the lamb, steak, loaded fries and chicken feast. This has been the place my family have been going for years, back to the original Albion days. It took a serious dip as the Cook House but since Stephen & Jake have taken over, it’s regained its atmosphere and charm. I approached Stephen about supporting Halton Cancer Support, a local charity and he was very eager to get involved. He sought opinion and support from the public and began to create a relationship with our work, supporting our annual 5K event. They couldn’t do enough to help and support us. They elevated our event, extending it into the evening, attracting new supporters for our charity and new customers in their lovely pub. We’ve enjoyed great food and drinks every time we’ve been. This has lead to me booking for a party of 18 near to Christmas and my family are booked in for Christmas Day lunch. I don’t think we would have engaged as a charity or returned as a family without the warmth and friendliness of Stephen, Jake, and their team. Thank you for bringing some joy back to an old Widnes favourite, and for bringing it back to life with your own added sparkle.”

“Had a family meal here for my mum’s 60th birthday, and the cookhouse team knocked it out of the park. Excellent food, brought out quickly, and the staff were exceptional. Would highly recommend!”

“Visited for the first time today for my dinner in work. My work colleagues have had takeaway from here before they told me it was really good. The restaurant wasnt your average chargrill house, it was really warm and had a rustic vibe to it. I ordered the 6oz cheeseburger with sweet chilli sauce and fries. Being a well travelled and massive foodie I've got to say this was without a doubt the best cheeseburger I've had in years! Absolutely gorgeous food! Way better than anything else I've found in Chester even the posh new food courts where the old bus stop used to be. Staff was very friendly and explained what shwarma was to me and even let us try the cold Greek drink they serve in like a milkshake mixer free of charge to see if we liked it. 100% I will be visiting regularly from now on. My only negative thing i can think of is that I haven't been to this place sooner!”

“Ordered for the first time today - tried the lamb ribs and the Bosnian kebab, both were absolutely delicious! Great salad and really tasty rice and fresh bread too. Can't wait to try more off the menu, all looks so good. Will definitely visit again, highly recommend! Hope that there will be option to order online/on the phone soon too.”

“Had an amazing night at Coyote Ugly Liverpool! The atmosphere was full of energy from the moment we walked in. All the hosts were friendly and really added to the fun, and the DJs were on point all night with great music. There’s loads to get involved with, we got served quickly at the bar (even when it was busy), and dancing on the bar was such a laugh! It’s a brilliant night out whether you’re in a big group or just a couple of you. Great mix of people, fun for both men and women – honestly just a fab place to let loose and enjoy yourself. Will definitely be coming back!”

“Stayed in the hotel and had £40 credit to spend on food in the bar so an obvious choice for an evening meal. Excellent food the burgers were really tasty and filling. The chips were warm and tasty. Service staff were very friendly and helpful, drinks and food were all brought out quickly and we were well looked after. Really enjoyable dinning experience, lovely big screens to watch the England final and great social distancing measures in place. Would recommend and visit again even if not staying in the hotel.”

“One of us got a breakfast which is standard you would expect, nice. I ordered a chicken kebab with rice and salad, it took a while to arrive but was absolutely delicious! Well worth the wait, reasonably price and the staff are lovely as always.”

They were really helpful in guiding us through the menu and helping us in select best suited dish,, they have vast menu and needs to visit more than once ( as iam visiting this restaurant for the first time) 5 star for the vegan burger and Fridays grilled chicken burger !!”
