An absolute pathetic disgrace. We were on a football academy tour with our 15/16 year old boys from Australia. Every single night we got dry chicken, plain pasta, dry rice, tomato sauce from a can, frozen vegetables the same packet potatoes and the boys were told one piece of chicken each! Anyone with a brain knows boys that age, particularly active boys, consume vast quantities of protein to refuel. After complaints from our tour organisers we got extra chicken and, yes, plain pasta, dry rice, tomato sauce from a can or bottle, and packet vegetables. They actually had staff monitoring like eagle eyed Nazis so nobody took too much. Unbelievable. Sorry, they did alternate with a pesto sauce once or twice. It was an absolute disgrace and the photo attached shows what we got and the putrid quality of the meals. At a point after complaints about the quantity of food to management by our tour organisers, they added toast and breakfast serial to the dinner menu! you canβt make this stuff up! Surely a trained chef could make lasagne maybe, spaghetti bolognaise, cottage pie, stew?! We did not get red meat once during our stay. We did some costing online at Tesco and taking into account their corporate discount they were probably feeding us dinner for 2 pounds a day. If that. There is no pride here, or just human decency, who the hell would serve the same dish to a group of people for 7 days straight? On our last night they threw in some pizza slices, soggy as because they were put in a serving dish and separated by baking paper. Howβs it possible this is acceptable standards at a supposedly decent hotel group? That managemet, when made aware of the problem, just ignored it is also troubling. All in all a disgrace to the hospitality industry and to the shareholders of the group. We had spent the week before at the Watford Leonardo and had an equally dismal experience. We had about 40 people in our group with at least 20 rooms between us for 14 nights across the two hotels and this is how they treated us. The mind boggles. Avoid for your own sake.

Hotel is in a great location. The rooms are getting a bit tired, bathrooms need updating, still have the plastic shower curtains and we had issues with a blocked sink and dodgy shower tap. Breakfast was okay, fresh eggs brought out but were already cold and the selection of fresh melon, orange etc was not topped up. Stayed in Leonardo's Rembrandt Park in Amsterdam six weeks ago, it was really smart inside, excellent breakfasts and well staffed, I wish the Liverpool hotel was as good.

The room was spacious with nice amenities. The breakfast was adequate with good choices but not special. However, the room (314) carpet was so stained you couldn't take a step without stepping on a gross-looking spot. Even the bathroom tile had black flecks on it. Time to put in vinyl flooring Leonardo.

It was nice to return to this hotel, as everything runs so smoothly. From check-in in the early hours of the morning, Simon was extremely helpful and explained everything about meals, through to the ladies greeting everyone at Breakfast. The bar staff were also great on the last night, even when the queue was approx 30 people long after a show at the Arena. They remained calm and super efficient. Thank you everyone!

We stayed in the Victoria & Albert room (457) & it was really lovely & spacious. Unfortunately, there were two dirty hand towels in the bathroom. They were removed & changed immediately when we told the front desk & we were given two free drink vouchers as a gesture of good will. Unfortunately, the bar staff left a lot to be desired. They were consistently surly & more concerned with smashing glasses & laughing amongst themselves. They had no customer skills & very little bar knowledge. Limited cocktail choices & difficulty pulling a pint. That should be bar tender 101. Reception staff were lovely & very accommodating. The location of the hotel is fabulous, with the Royal Albert Dock & the hop on - hop off bus stop only a two minute walk away. There is plenty of paid parking nearby with hotel validation. The breakfast was basic, again the staff were not overly friendly. Our room & the location would bring us back.

Hoping for a quick bite before show in arena. No such luck. Two staff covering whole place. Other customers complaining about waiting an hour for food. We had to find a waiter to place an order. After 30 mins wait, no drinks had arrived. We asked how long our food would be, nobody came back to us. Gave up and bought some crisps instead. Staff trying their best but very disappointed.
