The Mallard is our go-to choice for a pub meal. The food is always freshly cooked and good quality - none of that business of bringing in pre-prepared stuff that is just reheated. Sunday roasts are excellent. There is usually another vegetarian option available in addition to what's on the standard menu. The food at The Mallard is unpretentious and much better than most so-called "gastro" pubs. We've never been disappointed with our meals - and we've had quite a few now.

We came in on Christmas Eve for the festive menu. We were given a nicely decorated table and offered drinks right away. We had pre-ordered our menu and it wass all brought out in a timely manner and correct, without fuss. Drinks were reasonably priced and the festive menu was superb value for money. We will definitely be going again.

We had an absolutely fantastic experience at this pub restaurant! From start to finish, everything was outstanding. We ordered the beef burger, salt and pepper chicken, fudge cake, and sticky toffee pudding — and every single dish was delicious. The burger was perfectly cooked and full of flavour, the salt and pepper chicken was crisp and seasoned beautifully, and both desserts were rich, comforting, and the perfect finish to the meal. The service was just as impressive as the food. Staff were friendly, attentive, and made us feel genuinely welcome throughout our visit. A wonderful place with exceptional food and service — we’ll definitely be returning!

This looks like a traditional pub that looks like it had a good renovation recently. It's quite spacious inside with plenty of seating and they have a good selection of beers and ales. Service was quick and efficient. They also have a large menu so will need to call back to try the food.

We visited The Mallard for early lunch Friday 6/6. My Mum had fish & chips and I had the pie (steak & ale). The food was fabulous, so tasty & fresh. But the real star of the show was Lyndsey! She had such a friendly demeanour. She welcomed us and all others with a smile and nothing was too much trouble for her! She was working alone front of house… but had it running like clockwork. She checked in on us just enough and was never overpowering. I can’t really comment on the atmosphere as there were only 4-5 tables in, but judging by the boards saying ‘What’s on’ - live music etc I’m sure it would be fantastic! We will be returning for sure!!

Well what can i say! Great staff!!!!!!!! Always willing to put them selves out for you! Celebrated 2 18ths here now they literally couldn't of done more. Celebrated with us yet still professional! Exceptional food, amazing staff, great old school pub feel! Its family run and honestly couldn't suggest them more. Yes doesn't have all the mods and cods trendy bars offer these days but if its quality of good pub atmosphere like years ago this is your place. We have 2 more celebrations coming up and I can assure you this is where we are going. It's safe! Friendly and willing to accommodate anyone. I want to thank each and every staff member!
