“What a fun unique restaurant! From the moment you walk in Paulo , The chef/owner, welcomes you with open arms. He customized each one of our party of 8 dinners. He wants to know your level of spices , add this or that , what ever flavors you would like he can create. He had a wonderful wine list to complete our meals. It is a fun enjoyable dining experience! We would definitely go back to his restaurant!”

“Called in ivo all the rave reviews of this establishment & found them to ACCURATE! My wife & I called in for an early evening meal midweek Can honestly say that the food was mouthwatering good. Such a large menu to choose from gives room to explore new culinary experiences at a modest cost. Service was excellent. Will be returning soon!”

“My girlfriend found this place on the internet so we tried it out while we were in Southport , the place was quiet due to the fact the Champions league final was on and everyone was in the bars! As soon as we walked in we were made to feel as home by the gaffer, he couldn't do enough for us! The food was good and so was the Turkish beer, we chose different dishes from the Greek, Turkish and Spanish tapas menu and left full to the brim. The bill was a reasonable price too. We were very impressed by the interior of this restaurant and by the lovely painted Murals on the wall of different parts of the med. We had a lovely time and would recommend a visit here!”

“First visit to a Hickory's today. We were a little concerned when directions took us to the middle of a housing estate, but that's exactly where we were meant to be. Friendly, helpful, and welcoming staff. The smell of this fabulous smokehouse was promising upon entry. It didn't disappoint. Ample on-site car parking, smoking area outside, garden, dog friendly bar area (water bowls and treats inside the entrance), cinema room for little people, good clean facilities, and you can see and hear the food being cooked. Once seated out waiter introduced themselves and brought popcorn and water for the table. Good menu options. We went with the 3am Mac n Cheese and Earl Grey tea and a half rack of ribs with fries and an alcoholic slushy for grown-ups. We skipped starters and were too full for afters! There is no need to tip. It's included in the bill. So do be mindful. Very enjoyable experience, and we would definitely go again.”

“We had a fantastic family lunch today for my Dads 88th birthday. All the staff from start to finish were fantastic. “During the day this is a quiet backstreet Irish theme bar not many people in but peaceful and a place to meet and talk,it all changes on Friday and Saturday night when they have a traditional music turn on it comes alive, full of people and very rare to find serious drunks or idiots ,a oasis in a busy town a comfortable friendly place to chill and meet new friends”

“I stayed here with my boyfriend for his birthday, the staff were very accommodating, arthur’s suite is stunning, specious and has 2 bath tubs along with a shower. The rooms are clean, and the food in the bar tasted amazing. Very reasonably priced for what you get, I honestly have no complaints and would definitely stay here again if I am in the area. Highly recommend :)”

“We came for the first time for the Wednesday Indian Buffet. The place is beautifully furnished clean and tidy. Tricia, the owner was really lovely and welcoming. “We visited The Mallard for early lunch Friday 6/6. My Mum had fish & chips and I had the pie (steak & ale). The food was fabulous, so tasty & fresh. But the real star of the show was Lyndsey! She had such a friendly demeanour. She welcomed us and all others with a smile and nothing was too much trouble for her! She was working alone front of house… but had it running like clockwork. She checked in on us just enough and was never overpowering. I can’t really comment on the atmosphere as there were only 4-5 tables in, but judging by the boards saying ‘What’s on’ - live music etc I’m sure it would be fantastic! We will be returning for sure!!”

“Had a GREAT night here on Saturday with my friends on a rare night out. Fab music and good drink selection. Unknowingly I dropped my purse but a very kind customer handed it in to bar staff so when I WhatsApp the venue to ask if they had seen it they said YES! They kindly opened for me to pick it up the next day. Thank you!!”

“Husband and I went for an early tea as we had the opportunity of a baby sitter! Food is always fantastic here, I have literally never had a bad meal after visiting for 15+ years. Marc heads up a team of exceptional chefs whilst the waiting-on staff make sure you are well looked after. Michelin star quality food but with better portion sizes. The mix of French classic cuisine with some Asian dishes and top notch Italian pastas never ceases to amaze me. The menu is small (ish) but executed perfectly. There is a reason this place is booked up weeks in advance, but if you're in the local area you simply must visit”

“We went on a Saturday night, it was extremely busy and the restaurant was quite noisy. We waited some time for our main courses but the food was faultless when it did arrive. My partner waited over 10 minutes for a second drink. We will be back but we will probably get takeaway or visit on a less busy evening next time.”

“My boyfriend and I go here very often, it’s our favourite restaurant. We first went here a year ago and found it because we turned vegan and they have a whole vegan menu which is just fantastic for us. The food is of such high quality, we’ve never had better Italian food. And we couldn’t believe how great the vegan cheese was. We’ve tried vegan pizza’s at other restaurants, but they were almost inedible because of the awful vegan chemical cheese that doesn’t even melt properly and taste of nachos. But the vegan cheese in this restaurant is just superior, I like it even more than real cheese and it leaves us amazed everytime. Going to this restaurant has become a little ritual of ours, and we’d be truly heartbroken if it ever was to close! This restaurant is perfect for us and we love it dearly. The only thing it could improve on in my opinion is if they would add a few vegan desserts to the menu, at least one so vegan people have the option of getting a vegan dessert after their meal, too. I heard other vegan people in the restauarnt asking about it before, I think it would be really good. But this is only a little thing that could simply make it even more perfect for us!”
