Some of the best, if not the best pub food I've experienced in 2025. I work away a lot so eating out is the norm, as is not wanting to spend a fortune. Prices at the windmill were very reasonable and the food was nothing short of exceptional. Propper traditional pub snap done very very well. 5 stars.

A large L shaped room. Usual tap beers and a few real ales available. Staff were friendly and polite. Nicely decorated place with a cosy feel. Food served here which looked very nice. Dartboard and pool table available. Large patio area at the front with beautiful display of flowers. Enjoyed my visit.
Nice pub. Very clean and well kept. Reasonably priced. A comfortable place for couples. Dominoes and pool table. It appears as though food is available, however I cannot see a displayed menu. Plus I can state this is a dog friendly pub.
Went for Mother's Day Lovely food Sunday roast was amazing so tasty 3 courses special menu couldn't fault any of it and nice friendly service. Perfect!!! Well done and really good to see a Traditional pub so busy.
Nice warm welcome from the lady behind the bar. Very dog friendly as well. Food was really lovely we had fish,chips & peas. Very reasonable price and will definitely return next time we visit Southport. Thank you x
Two young men serving behind the bar. Very friendly and polite. This place is dog friendly and has water bowls place inside & outside with water buts so you can help yourself. They seriously do the best chips. Would totally recommend food good and not expensive
I always visit this pub all through the year when I am in Southport regularly!The staff/pub has a great atmosphere very welcoming with live music on specific times! I always enjoy the food and is also reasonably priced,winter months the real fire is also a bonus/inviting.Mark a younger chef prepared our food this weekend,it was absolutely excellent/amazing,beyond perfect and thoroughly enjoyed our food! I definitely will continue to eat here with a good choice of ales!The pub is having a refurb this month and cannot wait to enjoy the whole experience again next time I visit!Thank you to all the staff and for the great customer service,you truly are amazing!
Booked a table for 4 on the 31st October for dinner and to watch April Moon play live. The staff were all dressed up for halloween and the atmosphere in the pub was awesome. It was very busy so glad we had reserved a table. Food was amazing - highly recommend the halloumi salad for starters! Sunday lunch was lovely, portion size was more than enough and lamb was cooked to perfection. Home made yorkies too!! All the food was hot and fresh and more than enough for us all. Perfect. Staff couldn’t of been any more friendly and the band were really good. Thanks Neil, Tom and all the staff for a welcoming evening. Bonus - the dogs were welcomed and the open fire was on to warm up after a very cold walk on the beach!
