The beer and care for the beer in here has gone down rapidly. We walked in and rather than a welcome received "Upstairs is shut". So a good start. We ordered a White Rat and 2 Brooklyn IPA. The IPA was awful. We debated whether to mention this but when we did the barman on the night argued that he'd been serving it all day and had no complaints. His attitude stank, if he'd even just smelt the beer he would have been able to tell it was off. Eventually the barman said he'd give us 2 other pints. Thinking you can't really go wrong with a lager we opted for that. Utter crap too. My mates White Rat was terrible too. So there is no care given on any of the lines these days. Best give this place a wide berth now. Used to be great. I reckon you'd get a better pint out of the Birkey beer mats these days.

The typical British pub, with lots of options for beers, mainly on draft, and others bottled up. Not many options for snacks or anything to eat really, and I asked for a cup of tea because I couldn't drink and they didn't seem to be able to provide that option on that afternoon. Apart from that super friendly staff

I hired the upstairs area for a family funeral reception which went very well, many thanks to Jen and D for their help in making sure we had all we needed.

A very informative & friendly barman named Mark who discussed the real ales & mentioned one brewed at your own Brewery in Bootle..gave me a little taste of 2 types..The Oakham beer is delicious & I liked the Dockers ale too..Would definitely spend a day in Stamps..It has my Stamp Mark of approval..Regards also Mark. Former licensed Premises owner..

We Popped in for a quick pint. Nice quiet, Sunday mid day pint. 80s music in the back ground. I would imagine it gets busier during the evening.
