   This pub was/is in the heart of the village along with a smaller pub across the road. The Red Lion has had a brilliant past but age changes of tenant / manager in the last fifteen years that I have known it. After the last tenant left it was boarded up and left to rot. Punch Taverns put in new plans for it along with great renovations to the exterior and interior. There was great feelings in the village that the pub would come alive again. So renovations began for a few weeks /days then stopped. So it now stands surrounded with caging; waiting for whom or what to proceed. Your guess is as good as ours. Theories have been mooted in the village and an end date of July look very unlikely. A great shame.
