   Came to the pub as the website showed a full menu. When I arrived it was set up as a pub and when I asked for food was told they were waiting for a chef to start.

   We asked about food but we were told to go to the pub down the road if we wanted it. Service was ok but with a smile definitely not. Atmosphere wasn't great. I understand people get loud when drinking but we found it intimidating and almost impossible to have a conversation.

   Was there today and it as an amazing afternoon. Pub was very clean, staff where so friendly and welcoming as soon as we went in. Drinks where perfect, they where hosting a weekly local event for those pensioners in need due to cost of living, who could be in need of hot or cold drinks and hot or cold food. Staff went out of their way to help everyone, they had entertainment on in the form of disco, karaoke and even games of bingo. Never seen so much effort put in to help locals who may be in need of help due to cost of living. Whole experience was amazing and staff going out their way. 10* rating for our visit, absolutely exceptional pub and staff. Will be visiting again. Thank you and well done to management and all the staff.

   I found it difficult to grade this review because there are so many good things here to appreciate. However, the bad things are enough for me to not return. The young, male "cook" was under stress due to the previous chef leaving. However, he should not take it out on customers. Despite his boss, two waitresses and other customers agreeing that the pizza, burger and bun were all burnt (see photos and judge for yourselves) he was adamant that there was "nothing wrong with them" and "they have to be like that so that they are cooked in the middle!" Despite boasting catering education the boy could do with further training bespoke to the menu he is preparing. It was agreed with the barmaid that I would get a full refund but, there was no one on the premises that knew how to do a refund via debit card. She had rung the Manager, who was due in, and reassured me that the Manager would call me in about an hour to issue the refund and confirmed to me that I would not have to return to the premises to get my refund. Over 24 hours later and no phone call, I returned to the premises where the Manager did apologise to me. She also wasn't able to refund onto my card either and ended up giving me cash (which apparently couldn't be done the previous day!) The boy apologised for the way he spoke to and treated me but would not apologise or accept that the food was burnt. Which tells me that, should I return here, the food would still be prepared the same. This would not be acceptable to me so I will not be returning. Which is a shame as the rest of the staff and customers were lovely and well mannered. The dartboard desperately needs replacing and the decor is a bit tired (which indicates a well loved and popular pub). Which makes this review all the more tragic. All staff should be fully trained in the use of the chip and pin/contactless payment machine. I wish I could score this place more than the two stars but, I pride myself on honest, accurate reviews and value the reputation I have built on this.

   Awful service burger was greasy waited an hour half for it to come missing orders and pizza and garlic bread was burnt and awful never order from these
