   The Newton Arms is an absolute gem of a pub. I went in for the Sunday carvery and was blown away — generous portions, tender meats, crispy roasties, and plenty of proper thick gravy. The veg was fresh and well-cooked, and you can tell the food’s made with care, not just thrown together. The staff were friendly and welcoming from the moment we walked in, and the place has a lovely relaxed feel — perfect for families, mates, or just a quiet pint. After the meal, we stayed for a few games of pool, and I’ve got to say the tables are spot on — well kept, level, and loads of space around them so you can actually enjoy your game. All in all, The Newton Arms has the balance just right — great food, great service, and a proper pub atmosphere. Definitely worth a visit if you’re after a cracking carvery and a bit of fun after.

   Massive thank you to Helen and the team at The Ridger for proving the most excellent buffet and bar service for my Dad's funeral reception last week. The quality and quantity of food provided was absolutely spot on and needs for gluten free guests were catered for. The staff couldn't have been more friendly or helpful and made the whole event run so smoothly which was a great comfort given the occasion. 5*
