    Took car in for MoT test. Was let down by my usual branch but these were able to fit me in no problem. Dropped car off first thing and had a courtesy call just a few hours later to let me know it was ready to collect. Fantastic service.

    First visit was for an MOT. I was served by a man who wasn’t the friendliest, but he was straightforward and no-nonsense. No issues there. Second visit was to have my tyres replaced. This time, I was served by a blonde girl who was frankly miserable and rude. When I walked in, she was chatting with a colleague and reluctantly acknowledged me with a curt "Yeah?". Like I'd come into her home and interrupted her conversation with a friend. Very unprofessional. She told me, “Minimum staff today, so there might be a wait.” Fair enough. I asked for a rough estimate on the wait time. Her response: “Like I said, minimum staff today…” Very unhelpful and dismissive. Honestly, it made me wonder how such people even get hired for customer-facing roles. I waited in a café across the road for two hours—two hours to change two tyres. I went back to check in. Fortunately, the woman wasn’t there anymore. Instead, I was greeted by the same man from my MOT. He looked even more fed up than before, but remained professional. He explained, like a disappointed teacher, that I’d chosen the wrong tyres. I’d used the ones recommended by the website, but apparently you’re supposed to double-check compatibility. Fair enough—that was on me. He got it sorted quickly and had the job done within minutes. I won’t be returning. The whole place feels miserable, like the staff are overworked and under pressure. Sadly, it also seems they’ve hired immature young people who simply don’t understand what it is to be professional. A common story these days.

    So sad to review like this. The staff are fantastic, being forced to work under Halfords ludicrous conditions sadly has ruined National Tyres. Halfords expects me to drive a car with no MOT to their garage so they can take a look at it (not that I need or want them to), Halfords are a joke. It's like having a professional mechanic (national) being told what to do by a have a go hero mechanic from next door. Won't be back again sadly.

    Found online and got MOT cheap plus extra for signing up for newsletter which cancelled afterwards and got work done cheaper due to same as MOT and went over to Crosby village for walk around while waited

    Overworked, jaded mechanics who could all do with a long, restful holiday away from their target-driven commercial environment. When mechanics are placed under too much pressure....their customer service begins to suck. Some of us (consumers) begin to notice it and voice the painful truth. Remember the video "Uptown Girl" where Billy Joel and his musical grease monkey pals all did a finely choreographed jig? Well that's not what you'll ever see at this branch. The mood is much more grim....
