Completed all repairs to get my car through its MOT, Quoted a price, stuck to the price and completed the work in the time they said. Can't ask for more than that!
Great bunch of lads. Quoted for the work within minutes (a very fair price), and booked my car in the very next day. They worked well into the evening just to make sure that the car would be ready for me same day. Highly recommended.
10 out of 10 and then some. These lads are outstanding and I don't say that lightly. I very rarely make the effort to write a review but on this occasion I'm more than happy to. Apologies in advance because this is going to be a bit of a novel but I want to explain the situation I was in. I have an 18 year-old BMW that holds huge sentimental value to me because it was a gift from my father. About 6 months ago the engine suddenly developed a mysterious misfire in one of the cylinders which then caused an emissions failure on the MOT. So I took it to my usual mechanic. He told me he'd fixed it and charged me accordingly. Almost immediately I realised that he hadn't fixed it, he'd fixed something else that didn't need to be fixed and cleared the error codes for the misfire, hoping it would just disappear I guess. Of course it didn't and when I returned the car, he said he couldn't help me. I then took my car to another two different garages, both of whom charged me full price for diagnostics and both also then told me they couldn't find the problem or help me. I started searching on Google maps for a garage I hadn't been to before, reading as many reviews as I could. Based purely on all the other brilliant reviews, I called MJS Motor Services and explained my problem. The guy listened to everything I told him, couldn't have been nicer, and said not a problem my friend just pop down this afternoon. I did exactly that, and guess what? These two lads found what was causing the mysterious misfire within 20 minutes, told me exactly how much it would cost to fix, ordered the part that was needed (Lampda sensor) and asked me to come back the next day to have it fitted. Again, I did exactly that. Left my car with them, they called me back a couple of hours later and said hi mate, your car is all sorted and ready for you to collect! Honestly, I could have cried. When I picked my car up and started the engine, I could tell straight away just from the sound that they had indeed fixed the problem that three other garages had been unable or unwilling to do. It gets even better. When I went to collect my newly-purring machine, I told the lads that I was going to take it straight to VMS on Cleveland street for another MOT. Without me asking, one of them jumped in the drivers seat while the other one did a walk-around of my car. They were checking all the lights were working to make sure it didn't fail the MOT for something that was avoidable. I told them it's fine, I'm sure all the lights are working. Well, one of my rear side lights had in fact gone. They promptly replaced that (no charge) and sent me on my way, smiling from ear to ear. My car had been off the road for almost two months. Three rejections from three garages later, I took my car straight to VMS after the lads handed it back to me and It sailed through the MOT with zero minors. I'm now back on the road and my 18 year-old Bimmer feels as good as new. I don't even know if they'll see this but I've written it for the benefit of any other drivers out there who have had enough of below-par service from other garages. Truly, these guys are top-notch and I can't thank them enough.
Trust worthy mechanics. I have previously used them hence the previous review. I have an unexplained check engine warning light. I called up regarding diagnostics. They said just drop in, which I did on a late Thursday afternoon. They conducted diagnostics work told me they couldn’t find a fault. They didn’t charge me for diagnostics as most garages do. As previously mentioned, nice lads that don’t rip you off. They said pop in if any further issues, which I definitely have so will be using them to do the work. It’s also really close to Hamilton Square so you can get public transport if required.
Couldn’t agree more with previous reviews, we were away from home and had trouble with the car, the owner couldn’t have been more helpful, he sorted out the problem without any fuss and we were on our way. It’s reassuring to know that there’s still decent, caring, genuine people around, that are prepared to help without ripping you off.
These two brothers are a credit to the garage and the highly professional service that they provide is exceptional.....for further reference I personally will not be using any other garage within the Wirral.....from one very happy customer.
I could not thank this company so much . We have tried every thing with this car including timing chain solinod you name it was done still noise from engine. They came out of there way to help me they where here within the hr. if you want something doing or advice as to what is wrong please phone these gentlemen first . these gentlemen fantastic dont bother with anyone else
They welded the boot of my car which was rotting away, it was tidy and with no holes or flimsy areas. Several months later the rust is still long gone and water no longer leaks in.
