Last Tuesday 23rd December I collected our Prime Rib of Beef that I had ordered for our christmas dinner. Weighing in @ 2.7 kg. I knew that the quality was going to be stunning, to which it absolutely was, and of course cooked to perfection lol. There's wonder the farm shop keeps on winning awards they do... "Keep up the hard work guy's and girl's"..
After our butcher of the last 40 years closing down, we visited several alternatives in the area. We were meet by Mark one of the butchers who explained the ethos of the butchers, locally produced meat served with a smile. Over the last few weeks we have tried sausage, bacon, mince, pork joints, beef joints, turkey crowns and chicken. They were all excellent quality sold with advice about the storage and cooking. Mark has served us regularly and is a credit the the shop his knowledge about meat is second to none.
The best farm shop the UK has to offer. Exceptional variety of fresh meat, vegetables, condiments, spices etc. All the staff are friendly and the butchery department know exactly what they are talking about, you can ask them how to cook any of their products and they will give you a in-depth guide on how to do this. The BBQ course which the estate also runs is second to none, if you are a real food lover then look no further.
Ok it's not cheap but the highest of quality is on offer. To be honest it can get addictive shopping there. Such tempting good food for all tastes. Fabulous bread. The sliced sourdough does help. I'd make a little suggestion to the deli country an separate the vegetarian food better.
Popped in while visiting the garden centre and very impressed. Good selection of produce, meats, and general products. The deli counter is well stocked too. Bought minted lamb which were amazing. Was a pleasure to chat with the butcher, very friendly and knowledgeable. Prices for a few things were more than a supermarket as you'd expect but a lot of items weren't and definitely of better quality so I will be going back.
Simply outstanding farm shop! The on-site butchers, bakery and delicatessen are superb, of course they are a little more pricey than the supermarkets but disregard this if you primary concern is locally produced quality food. We’ve made it a regular for shopping and enjoy a wide range of food that the shop offers. The service is always friendly without being instructive and the range of products is good.
It's a farm shop.. always get some of the sausage they make, some is different but some is the standard fayre but is usually very good. Prices are ok for some items but some are overpriced and not the price you would pay at a supermarket.
I've been to Dukeries Garden Centre a few times and I've never been in the farm shop before. After seeing it on Channel 4 Britain's Poshest Farm Shop me and my mum decided to have a day out. It definitely didn't disappoint. It's not very big but there's still loads of choice from meats, cheese, bread, cakes, pasties, fruit, veg, wine, gin, jams etc you name it. I had some tomato pork sausage from there oh my they were amazing, so meaty and they didn't shrink or lose any fat. Overall a lovely shop that both me and mum will definitely go back to.
If your at the Nottcutts, then stop here as the selection is good. Meats, Bread, Cheese, Veg and other fresh produce. Never overly busy and have always been asked if we need assistance. Helpful team on hand. I would agree with other posts here that the till service is very friendly. Prices to be expected for a farm shop but my favourite reason to go is the IPA mini kegs and bottles.
