I’ve been a loyal customer of Woolton Motors for 8 years. Initially, their customer service was excellent, and their pricing fair. However, over the past couple of years, the quality of their service has significantly declined, and the prices have become increasingly expensive. Last year, I booked my car in weeks ahead, scheduling the drop-off for a full week while I was on holiday, with the expectation that both an MOT and full service would be completed. Upon returning, I was told they had only managed to do the MOT, and I would need to rebook the service for another time. I expressed my frustration, particularly as it meant taking another day off work, but I decided to give them the benefit of the doubt. Last week, I visited the garage in person to show them an issue with my car. Without even inspecting it, they told me to book it in for a repair today. The car has been with them all day, and I just received a call saying they’ve diagnosed the problem, but can’t repair it today—meaning I’ll need to reschedule yet again. When I explained that this would require me to take another day off work, the receptionist was unapologetic and argued that it wasn’t their problem. Given these repeated issues, I’ve decided I will no longer use Woolton Motors and will be taking my business elsewhere.
Very friendly staff. I have been using this garage for some years now and have found out that they are the best and will never think of changing. I don’t hesitate to recommend them to my friends. Excellent job keep it up.
My vehicle sat at this garage for 2 weeks without them even touching it. On a Tuesday my vehicle failed to start so I had to get it recovered. The recovery service called different garages to get it booked in and Woolton Motor Co was the only garage to say that they could see it either Wednesday, Thursday, or Friday. So it was dropped off there. I called Friday and they hadn’t had a chance to look at it and said they would look at it in Tuesday since Monday was a bank holiday. I called Tuesday and still nothing. They said there were still other vehicles ahead of me but they would get to it on Wednesday since my vehicle was next in the queue. I called Thursday and they still hadn’t looked at it. The mechanic tried to say that it wasn’t booked in although the recovery service that towed the vehicle in booked it in and had it confirmed. The mechanic tried to tell me that it could be a timing belt issue which was strange since they hadn’t looked at it (it was sat in the same place that we pushed it a week prior). Friday I called again and they still hadn’t looked at it but this time the mechanic says it might be a crankshaft issue and that they have it booked for the following Tuesday. Needless to say I called a another garage they picked up my vehicle the same day and got started on it immediately. I definitely do NOT recommend this garage.
I've been using this garage for several years now, and they can be trusted to be honest and straight with you, as an ex-mechanic I've always tested the people working on my cars to see if they are transparent, and these chaps are. If ever they've not been able to find the problem straight away, they've not fobbed me off but said they need to do a bit of research and have the car for longer to dig deeper. 5 stars, you won't be disappointed!
Absolutely diabolical service. The very rude proprietor advised that it would take him several months to acquire a part from abroad. I spoke with a rival garage and they told me that they would have the part in 24 hours. would not touch this garage with a bargepole.
Top garage... they don't rip you off and have excellent mechanics.....
This garage fixed my car after taking it to four garages who didn’t know what to do with it. They were super friendly, quick and efficient helping me out at short notice giving me a very good price for the work done!
Friendly efficient honest service, wouldn't take my car anywhere else. More than willing to help out when my car had been off the road for a few years.
Can't fault this garage. Staff are lovely and helpful and they don't charge ridiculous prices. Wouldn't take my car anywhere else.
