   I visited this café for the first time on the morning of Friday 23 May 2025. I ordered eggs and tomatoes and a black coffee, then went for a walk and returned to order a cappuccino and an almond croissant. All the food and drink was excellent and the staff were really friendly, especially the young ladies serving. Nice music playing too. All in all a lovely little place and I would definitely recommend.

   We live just up the road and thought it was a greasy spoon. How wrong we were. Poached is a postage stamp size gourmet breakfast restaurant. The menu is innovative. The service is warm and friendly. That totally know their coffee (fresh roasted beans on sale here too). A delightful place for breakfast (and probably lunch too. As a bonus they have a live train times board and do takeaways. 5 stars all the way.

   I’m such a big fan of Poached! Their coffee is delicious, they’re really friendly and everything I’ve ever eaten here had been delicious. Special shout-out to the almond croissants they sell and today I tried a pretzel bun - they have meaty, veggie and vegan options to choose from - which was just perfect. A cosy, small coffee shop with about 4 tables to sit-in, a loo or very conveniently located for the train station. A Beckenham gem!

   Great coffee but the main event is the almond croissant which is hands down the best almond croissant I have EVER had. The pretzel bun sausage and egg sandwich is really great too. Always fast and friendly service.

   Clever little menu. Once you come to terms that the portions are always going to be on the smaller side, you'll want to return for the pretzel buns and homemade chilli jam. The coffee isn't to my taste, but as mentioned, I came for the pretzel buns and homemade chilli jam (bottles of it can be bought seperately).

   I know the name suggests eggs any way however, I had pancakes which were filling and delicious. My husband had scrambled eggs which he thoroughly enjoyed. Everything tasted fresh and good quality. Will definitely be visiting again. They need a bigger space as they have a great product.
