I placed a reservation with a developer in March 2017 for the purchase of a yet-to-be-built property in Media City, Salford and appointed Blackstone Solicitors as my solicitor for the transaction. The solicitor gave me very useful advice and assistance on the purchase and took the transaction forward to exchange of contract. A substantial deposit was paid to the developer via the solicitor under the sale & purchase agreement. Unfortunately the developer failed to complete the property on time. Under the agreement, I was entitled to rescind the agreement after the specified date 31 December 2021. Without having heard anything from the developer about the undue delay, I eventually instructed the solicitor in September 2022 to issue a notice of rescission to the developer and seek the return of the deposit paid. Subsequently the solicitor issued a number of letters and reminders to the developer to pursue refund of the deposit. Thanks to the insistence and effort of the solicitor, I finally received the refund of the deposit from the developer in February 2023 without having to resort to proceedings in litigation. Blackstone Solicitors acted with due diligence and professionalism in handling the matter for me throughout the process. What is more, high commendation must be given to Mr Wesley Grice of Blackstone Solicitors who has given me clear and helpful advice about my rights as a party to the agreement and kept me regularly informed of the progress in the matter.
Blackstone Solicitors are highly professional and greatly committed to clients. A marketing company, handling property sales had recommended Blackstone Solicitors to me, shortly after I decided to buy an off-plan property from a reputed building company in UK in 2017. Blackstone Solicitors facilitated an early exchange for me, but as fate would have it, also owing to COVID-19, the builder got severely delayed in their plans and even the long date for completion got breached. A good amount of my capital had gotten stuck in a deal which was not looking to complete anytime before 2025. I was also at risk of losing capital. Blackstone solicitors helped me immensely towards getting my capital back. They continually advised me, kept me informed and did a thorough follow-up with the builder's solicitor. Every communication they sent to the other side was a notch higher than the previous one. I finally got my capital back in 2023 without resorting to any legal proceedings. I am really pleased and extremely thankful to Blackstone Solicitors for the services they provided me and I have no hesitation in recommending them and using their services again for property conveyancing in the future.
The problem with average lawyers is that their revenue is boosted by their incompetence. Blackstone Solicitors Ltd are average & incompetent. Blackstone cannot even manage PDF files. Emma Nawaz promised a 'result' with a capped quote £22,000 to end of hearings & a senior lawyer but 'challenged' juniors (trainee solicitors & trainee 'challenged' receptionist) were assigned. They missed legislation that would have saved me 4 months for a commercial eviction. Increased costs by £7,500 over & above their quote with a 14 day deadline to seek counsel advice. Dangerous skim reading reversed the intention of my private settlement offer. I was badly advised resulting in no result, lost rent arrears recovery & other substantial financial loss. Repeatedly unaware & dishonest about their mistakes. They never answer any questions so a strategy cannot be formed by myself [client]. Discourteous, dismissive telephone manner including laughing & ridicule at me, their client. Just another overpriced mickey mouse lawyer service: easy choice to avoid.
I needed help with a litigation matter. The team at Blackstone were brilliant. They kept in regular contact throughout and explained the whole process as things progressed. They were cost effective and got the job done. Happy to recommend them.
Where do I start? I was recommended Blackstone Solicitors by a family member who reassured me they were excellent and very efficient in their work, it was the complete opposite. It took nearly 4 months for my purchase to go through and I believe it could of been half of that time if they had done the job properly. The main issue to why the purchase was delayed was only discovered 1 day before our original move in date, up to this time I was told we were pretty much on track and we had no issues, how wrong was I... I was constantly having to chase everybody for information and to find out where we were up to, the lady I was dealing with was constantly on holiday or off work (which wasn't the issue) but when she wasn't in the office the person dealing with the case didn't have a clue what I was going on about... Then to top it all off I did once ring up to query her about something, I was then told "She's in the Kitchen" I responded "Is she a Chef?". The unprofessionalism and lack of enthusiasm was barbaric and they ended up costing me a lot of money as my house move delayed week by week. I would seriously not recommend Blackstone to anybody, they were more expensive to my alternative and made the whole process of buying a house prolonged and distressing.
