Debra at Evolve was able to guide myself and my ex wife through a joint consultation to reduce our stress and financial commitment through a difficult time. She was able to answer our questions concisely, and always quickly.
Where do I start? Divorce is hard enough, and a protracted legal battle over the financial settlement just makes the process even harder. In my case, that battle started in 2011 and lasted some 11 years. It wasn’t until I engaged Evolve Family Law in late 2016, that I finally made progress. In mid 2017, Robin and his team obtained a variation to the financial order that gave me some hope for the future. We went from a lifetime order for an unrealistic amount, to a fixed term order for a much reduced, and manageable, amount. I suspect Robin and the team hoped they had seen the last of me. Unfortunately, I lost my job at the outbreak of Covid, and could no longer meet my commitments. I contacted Evolve again, and Robin suggested we seek to vary the order through arbitration. This was not only much less expensive, it was also far less stressful. My situation was further complicated by the fact that I do not live in the UK, and haven’t done so for some twenty years. As always, Robin was supportive and pragmatic. He guided me through the entire process, applying a common sense approach to achieving the best possible resolution for me. Whilst he told me hard truths when I needed to hear them, he never failed to pursue every opportunity to improve my situation. He also ensured that fees were kept to a minimum. To cut a long story short, we finally reached agreement for a “clean break”, something that I had thought we would never get. Whilst Robin is at the forefront of my appreciation, we couldn’t have got where we are today without the support and dedication of the entire team at Evolve, with particulalry honourable mentions to Tracey and Zoe.
