Walking in it felt like a prison kitchen. There's no pictures on the walls or colour, amd not even condiments on the tables. We found out later on that you get them in sachets. A very clear sign of a place that only cares about making money and not rhe quality of the customers experience. We ordered drinks, my friend had a coffee and I ordered a diet coke. I was shocked to be presented with a paper cup and straw like you recieve in the big chain restaurants. That's because its cheap. Syrup in fizzy water. I went to the loo before my food came. Kitchen roll as toilet roll. Again a cheap alternative. My food came and I order an omlette with well done bacon and cheese, with a side salad and beans. It came with just the salad. Very well presented and fresh, the coleslaw however was not. I mentioned that I asked for beans too. And as you can clearly see - I was given the bottom of the pot that has been on the hob all day. Very embarraing for visiting place. I saw it had low reviews on here but thought id give the benefit of the doubt. Never again. I will say the customer service was great. But when youre so tight you won't give out real fizzy drinks, decent fresh beans ( that where also chucked on top of my salad. Who is your chef?!) Toilet roll and coleslaw, I'm not coming back. Shame because ive just moved to the area and love a cafe..

I do not live in Swanley but my Aunt's parents did and bought their house from new many many years ago, well my Aunt and her brother were both born in the same house and my Aunt died aged 85. So that long ago. My Aunt died in 2019 and her ashes are in the Family plot in Swanley village Church. I visit here there when I am passing through for work purposes , to pay my respect and say hello. Yesterday was that day. Wednesday 27th August 2020. At 11.29am I was needing a cup of tea and a wee. I saw a sign in this particular cafe that said "Toilets Are For Customers Use Only". Perfect. I go in and tell a member of waiting staff that I am using the loo and will order a cup of tea when I come out. The waiting staff lady said I cannot order just a cup of tea I HAVE to order food as well. I said I was not hungry. She said "what about a sandwich". I said I was not hungry. She said "Today is market day and you cannot just have a cup of tea and you have to eat" I said I am sorry I am not hungry so I will go elsewhere. She seemed very happy with my choice and not bothered at all. I walked out and did not know where to go next.

2 out of 10 at best sausage was cremated, eggs welded to the pan and scraped off, beans cold, bacon under cooked, toast was cold, I honestly wouldn’t feed it to my dog! The gentleman that took our order is too good for that dump! The seating is 1980’s yet the price is as if it was decent!

The staff at the step in were extremely friendly when I went in with my disabled 11 year old. They were accommodating and kind. Tommy really enjoyed his burger chips and beans too!

Just seen the owner of this cafe go out and start shouting and swearing at 2 older ladies, who were trying to come in the cafe. He has just accused them of breaking the door. Really!!! Absolutely disgusting!

Have been eating here since I was a small child although it was the starburger then I believe and I am sure they used to serve Sunday roast and desert. (edit try still do!) :-) Anyway the food is always good and what you would expect from a cafe. Any mistakes are always swiftly rectifies in the rare event there is one. The kids Love eating here and my daughter has asked if she can have a birthday party here. Would always recommend this fabulous family run cafe.
