Lovely staff, lovely toys all clean and looked after. Great location. We attend the baby group and have for months. Great food options, reasonable price. It really is the ladies who run it that make it.

I recently visited Rainbow Playrooms, a fantastic facility for children, and was blown away by the experience. The space is accessible, vibrant, and thoughtfully designed with sensory-friendly areas and safe play zones that cater to diverse needs. The staff is truly exceptional—warm, professional, and dedicated. Their storytelling sessions are magical, using expressive voices, visuals, and sensory props to engage every child. The kids’ songs were a highlight, with lively singing, instruments, and inclusive activities that had every child smiling, clapping, or swaying along. Safety is top-notch, with attentive staff ensuring every child’s needs are met. They create a nurturing, joyful environment where kids feel included and empowered. Rainbow Playrooms is a gem, and I highly recommend it to families seeking a fun, supportive space for their children. We can’t wait.

Visited with some friends and my 10 month old, we booked online. We turned up in the afternoon and were greeted by a really friendly lady who made us feel totally welcomed. The pram park made a huge difference as it meant I didn’t have to drag my big pram in! I ordered some food and a coffee, it was a really good price and well made - very enjoyable. Our kids loved the environment. The only suggestion I would have is a bit of a clean up a few times in the day, although with it being school holidays and busy I’m sure this is hard. But it kind of felt like the place had been wrecked by other kids beforehand which made it a bit overwhelming. But having said that, my son didn’t really seem to mind so maybe it’s just something that bothers adults - suppose kids will play wether it’s messy or not. Definitely will return next time I’m in Wakefield, the fact it’s in the city centre is only thing that makes it hard as cost of parking and getting into town can be hard sometimes, would visit this loads more if it was somewhere like Horbury. Can see how it being in city centre may open it up for more people who visit city centre lots though :)

We love Rainbow Playrooms. We have the gold membership and go so often it's like a second home to our boys. There's plenty for both of them to do and there's always new themes and different activities so they never get bored! Story time is amazing too. We also love the food and drinks and the staff are just so welcoming and kind. Always lots of other lovely parents here too and it's just a lovely community. Every time we say we are going to rainbow playrooms our son gets SO excited. Thanks Jen and everyone else, love Molly, Billy, Fox and Ozzy x x x

This is such a wonderful space. My little boy is 2, almost 3 and has a fantastic time every time we come here. Every friend we have introduced to Rainbow Playrooms feels the exact same way. The variety of toys out is great, and everything is designed with children’s development in mind. The staff are all lovely and always happy to have a chat, and offer advice about different topics. We have been coming to Rainbow Playrooms since my boy was tiny and I hope we have many more years of attending! Thank you for always making us feel so welcome!

Fantastic playroom. It has such a warm and welcoming feel and it is the perfect safe space for not only children but parents too. I found rainbow playrooms when I was newly a mum of 2 and it is a place that is easy to be able to watch my toddler play and entertain my baby at the same time. It has also been a safe space to breastfeed with staff kindly offering me water or chatting and entertaining my toddler. It is such a welcome change from soft play and my toddler especially has benefited massively from attending in terms of speech, attention and social skills. The weekly themes keep it exciting and it is clear that the staff are experts in early learning from the provision provided. My only wish is that Rainbow Playrooms had been open when I had my firstborn!

The best play room we have been to (and we have basically been to every single one in West Yorkshire)! Lovely kind staff and a laid-back friendly atmosphere. I have made a few friends here who I have stayed in touch with as well as all parents like minded. Montessori style toys that have really helped my children’s development and confidence, lots of learning through play and sensory activities. Each week has a theme and they’re always so interesting and different and my eldest really loves it and gets excited about this. I have a 1&3 year old and feel that there is plenty for both of these ages. Good food and drink and the whole thing is an absolute bargain compared to most Montessori style places. Highly recommend.

The most incredible play and education area for young children and babies in Wakefield and surrounding. A welcoming and friendly atmosphere, with the best learning resources around. A very Montessori inspired area with both indoor and outdoor activities created surrounding a weekly theme, all of which link in with the EYFS. Lots of focus on creativity, kindness, inclusivity and individuality. Sooooo much fun and our favourite place!
