Saw A Christmas Carol, brilliant performance. Great set up, seats really good, acoustics very good as well. Didn't use the refreshment areas but there were a couple and very little in way of queues so seem to be relatively quick serving. Also not sure of prices. Would highly recommend

Absolutely fab theatre - you get a great view no matter where you're sat! We recently went to see A Christmas Carol which was a brilliant performance. Parking in Victoria Gate is just a 2 minute walk away, the drinks queue went down quite quickly before the show and in the interval, as well as the ladies toilet queue (which is always a bonus!) Wouldn't hesitate to book another show here!

My friends and I came to see the afternoon performance of a Christmas Carol on 14/12/25. This is one of my favourite films so the performance had a lot to live up too! It did not disappoint. Reece Dinsdale as Scrooge was outstanding. The whole cast was excellent as were the props (especially the ghost of Christmas future) All in all a lovely, entertaining afternoon. There was absolutely nothing to disappoint us. Thank you to all concerned in the production and the staff of the playhouse.

Thank you for another lovely evening, this time to see A Christmas Carol, starring Reece Dinsdale as Scrooge. Amy Leach's Scrooge is the cruel, capitalist owner of a 19th-century Leeds mill, and there are socialist messages throughout (at one point, Scrooge is forced to listen to the workers who toil to make him rich, and is confronted with the fact that he does not work as hard as them). Mr and Mrs Cratchit are performed by Deaf actors, and I loved Mrs Cratchit's takedown of Scrooge - all through BSL, but the meaning was absolutely clear to everyone! And there's a gay couple! Which shouldn't seem revolutionary, but actually it's reassuring and noteworthy to see LGBT+ representation. The costumes and set were magnificent, with the smouldering mill towers as a backdrop, and a truly impressive Ghost of Christmas Yet to Come. The restaurant was reasonably priced and the pizzas nicely cooked. The staff all around the Playhouse were very friendly and helpful - we've forgotten the name of the gentleman who was training at Quarry 3 this evening sorry, but good luck with the induction, and what a wonderful place to work! Thank you to the whole team for an enjoyable evening.

Have seen shows in their main Quarry Theatre and the Courtyard Theatre and everything we've seen there has always been fabulous. They put on some great original productions and are a great venue to see touring productions at. Seats are comfy and well positioned so there's no bad seat in the auditorium. Staff are fabulous Strong contender for best regional theatre in the UK!

It was my first time in the play house since it had been redone and it was magnificent. Nicely laid out, the staff, as always, were friendly and helpful. The auditorium itself was clean, people were ushered in efficiently. A wonderful place to see a show

First first here since they renovated. Wonderful theatre,we watched a stunning performance of Macbeth. Wide variety of genres. The only thing that spoilt this was some people sat behind us rattling their tub if sweets. Not really a place to be eating in,8n my opinion.
