Neighbourhood favourite with an eclectic, retro style. Serves acceptable flavour in its coffee, alongside toasties and some bakery. Armchairs inside, benches outside.
Great coffee, toasties and pastries, in a boutique cafe in the occassionally vibrant, hipster quarter of Leyton, with seating inside and out.
I loved this coffee shop more when the guy (I suppose the owner) was running it. He was always nice and welcoming and new what he is doing. I have been there recently few times when the girls were there and the quality of coffee or customer service is just not that good. I am sitting here right now and there is a girl with glasses and some other one (I am thinking some trial shift or new employee). The new girl was doing a good job but I came when another 3 people where ahead of me and she was just doing everything by herself while the other was sitting on a chair behind counter on her phone and just looking at her. I was waiting for my order to be taken at least 5 minutes (as she was preparing some toasties) while the girl with glasses was just sitting there did not say a word to me, like I am sorry I am on a break or anything. I find it a bit rude sit behind bar on your phone while you have customers waiting to be serve and if I see new employee stifles with being fast and organise as a someone who supervise me I will give her a hand no?
Decent music, comfy seating and friendly staff! My partner said her chai latte didn't really taste of anything but milk which is the only reason this places gets 4 stars.
Staff not friendly at all , they forgot our second toasted sandwich so we had to share the first one while they prepared the second one. No apologies made at all. The coffee doesn’t taste that good and the toilet and kitchen are dirty.
Strange Brew has quickly become my favourite place to drink my coffee! Not only is the coffee delicious, the atmosphere is so friendly, chilled and inviting. You really get a sense of community here and genuinely feel it's a place for everyone from all walks of life. Forgot to mention, they do delicious bites too! Go and enjoy the experience that is Strange Brew, you deserve it.
