A mixed bag, as far as a food review goes. Whilst two of our four heated snacks were fine, my all day breakfast wrap was luke warm. The sausage was mushy. Hopefully I'll not be poorly later. The tomato and mozzarella panini had the hardly any tomato, some small shreds. Disappointed.
Absolute terrible service. Ordered 2 hot drinks, 1 savory and 1 sweet item on tablet. 4 staff stood around talking. Place wasn't busy at all. Seemed to take a while to do drinks. Once my drinks were passed to me, staff continue to yap while I was waiting for my food items. I was totally ignored, I had to say where's my food. After checking my paper receipt slowly as you like, get my food. Pass it over with no apology and with what looked like major effort and seemed annoyed that I asked. No Terry's choc orange piece on muffin I ordered. Or any whole milk in the Americano. Didn't bother going back to complain as It wasn't worth the hassle. Out of all the Costas I visit (and it's quite a few) this here by far is the worst for staff attitude and laziness. One even stood there flapping her hands around inside her apron, leaning on the counter constantly talking! A big 0 of of 5 for Customer service. Interaction and Professionalism. Won't be visiting again.
It was such a busy day in Excel London. We had our breakfast there, despite the crowd, the staff were so kind, quick and friendly, the food was fresh. Thank you!
This Costa outlet is just inside the western entrance to the Excel Centre. Despite there being 6 staff, a row of self service ordering machines, and three or four coffee machines, it seemed to take longer to be served than in other Costas without all these things (and it wasn't particularly busy at the time I visited). You can order from the baristas or at one of the machines (I did not see anyone doing that) and you get a numbered receipt to pick up your order at the other side. I hope that they don't roll out this workflow model across their network, though I appreciate that it might be necessary when it's very busy.
There is little to like really. The service is very slow (queue 5 minutes to pay then wait 10-15 minutes for the drink at 9.30am on a Thursday) The barista was quite knowledgeable about their new signature latte (which is the same beans but made differently) so one star for him. The sustainability of Costa is woeful. They refuse to serve coffee without a single use plastic lid. They say it's healthy and safety but there are loads of coffee shops that have cardboard lids or will serve coffee without a lid (customer should be able to take responsibility? Milky coffee is not that hot or viscose). #nolid
Fresh and tasty food. Good value for money. Very nice service. I'll be right back here.
Horrible, I would give 0 stars because it was a robbery. Coffee is awful and I had a chocolate and caramel cake that tasted nothing, where was the caramel? Way too expensive for absolutly not even a pinch of quality. Don't waste your money.
Organisation was pretty much ZERO! I feel like once you’ve ordered, you should go round the side to pick up the order but instead, you’re kind of pushed aside in between others ordering! Too busy and not enough staff.
Bad service and won’t take your Costa card. They say daily that it never works so you can’t add your points or free coffee so they make sure they just take your money
Terrible service, the attitude of the staff was disappointing and put a damper on the whole day. They do not care!! Complaint to be sent to Costa directly. This branch needs staff that have good customer service and who are welcoming and accommodating. We received the opposite unfortunately.
