We visited on a very busy Saturday night for my wife’s birthday meal and the whole experience was disappointing. Our booked table was not ready and we ended up waiting at least 25 minutes with very little communication from staff. It was not a great start to the evening. I asked for an ale and was given one to try, but it was obvious straight away that it was off. The young staff member pulled a face, checked with a colleague and then told me they were changing the lines. There were no other ales available, only basic fizzy lager-style drinks, which is quite poor for a pub on a busy weekend. The food was fine, but nothing memorable, and the long wait beforehand had already taken the shine off the meal. Our server was actually pleasant and did apologise, so no issues there. The Old Fashioned I ordered was below standard and tasted like it had been thrown together without much care. Overall, the quality has dropped a lot. The place feels like it is run by too many part-time teenagers who look overwhelmed, struggle to communicate and do not seem very invested. It used to be worth the price, but I am not convinced it is anymore.

Such a lovely atmosphere…. And staff is so friendly, they serve smiling and timely. We had a nice small birthday gathering and everything has been so well overall. Food was delicious, burger was just a bit dry but fish&chips was one of the best in the region.

A busy but lovely pub. Staff were very attentive and nothing was a problem. Even though nachos wasn’t on the menu, they’d changed nachos to something else, similar but not the same. They offered to do it, I didn’t even ask… with melted cheese of course. They also brought me a birthday dessert which was such a lovely surprise. Tea comes with fudge on the side, always nice to have a biscuit or sweet on the side with a coffee or tea. A 10 out of 10 from me.

We found this place by chance. We googled good Sunday roasts and there was a table available. Sundays there is a set menu for £26.50. That includes a starter and main. I had the beef roast and my partner had the gourmet burger. Everything was so full of flavour. The staff were very attentive. We were so impressed we asked to speak to the manager so we could pass on our compliments to the chef for the amazing food and the staff for the good service. I have added the pub to my list of favourite pubs. It's an hour away from where we live but we will definitely be back with friends. Highly recommend you will not be disappointed.

Well this was a really lovely find. Staff so friendly and welcoming. Really nice inside and outside. Plenty of seating inside and a big seating area outside. The menu has a good choice. Reasonably priced. And the food was amazing. I had king prawns and crab linguine and my partner had seabream both said how really nice it was. Nice little village to walk around. We stayed at a campsite which about 15 minutes walk. I would definitely recommend here and we are definitely going again

This isn't the cheapest place... but my meal was excellent. My lamb shank was seasoned well and the meat fell off the bone. The accompanying vegetables were cooked very well. The atmosphere of the pub is nice, and it's well fitted out, with a good selection of drinks. You won't have any problems if you decide to pay this place a visit on your travels.

It’s always a good sign when somewhere is very busy. We ate here on Friday evening & food was outstanding. A good menu, the staff were very attentive, friendly & it’s reasonably priced. Can’t believe I haven’t been here before. And not forgetting the best dessert menu ever written!

Quality pub situated at a lovely village short walking distance from the river. Its a large pub that still feels warm and cosy. It has a large garden with tables outside and under a canopy. The food looks really and the beer selection is excellent. It's very clean, tidy and superbly kept. The service is friendly, fast and very professional. There is also a large car park and the pub is dog friendly. It's a perfect spot for a drink, some good food and a nice walk by the river. Highly recommended
