Organized a Christmas dinner for our family, there were eleven of us in total, including two vegans and one vegetarian. We ordered the Christmas menu. The food was lovely, portion sizes were generous. Our family had a lovely time, we were very well looked after by the staff.
A wonderful friendly local. Reasonably priced and fantastic friendly service. I regularly bring my family here and we always are treated with kindness and the food is great. I recommend The Ballot Box whether you want a quiet pint or a family get together
Food that we got was well cooked and tasty. My steak was cooked to the right degree and my husband’s fish and chips were excellent. However, we were there as part of a large family group (13 people). We had booked well in advance and indicated the likely numbers. We ordered in three groups with not much time between us, but the last group waited over an hour and a half after the rest of us got their food. They were nearly ready to get up and go and asked at the bar, then their food arrived. Some items ordered didn’t come. They hadn’t got any corn on the cob. Rather than saying that, they just brought out the meals without it. They were asked to provide substitutions; cucumber slices for one and beans for another. Fine, they said. But the substitutions didn’t ever appear. Overall this is a pub that you can take your children to and it will be fine, but don’t expect to get your food promptly.
Popped in for dinner on a Friday night and couldn’t fault it. Amazing food, amazing service. Staff are lovely!
This pub is perfect for families! We celebrated my wife’s birthday there and it was wonderful. Staff were really patient and accommodating, lots of options for food and drinks and plenty of outdoors and indoor space for kids. It’s really lovely because the pub itself is nice and large and there is a playground and also a softplay at the back (they run as a separate business but it’s very easy to get in and you can bring drinks from the pub there). I definitely recommend and will be going back often (our friends also were very impressed by this pub).
I've visited this place a couple of times. It has ample parking and the staff is friendly. You can order food via the App. Very convinient. The food is very good. They have promotions which gives you a good deal. I will definitely keep going to Ballot Box. Also had my child's birthday party at the Wacky warehouse. Was convinient and the kids enjoyed it.
Good food, super nice staff, lovely location especially if you have an event to organise, plenty of space. The manager lady very nice and let us decorate the tables the way we wanted and help us with everything we need
Visit here a few times a year and the place is so big! Plenty of seating and sections to the pub to cater for small-large functions/bookings. There is also plenty of seating outdoors along with a playground and beer garden which is ideal in the summer. There is bar games including pool table and slot machine and the food and drinks menu offers a huge range and at reasonable prices. Would definitely recommend to anyone looking for a reasonably priced pub for all the family.
Very large dining area, public bar with a good selection of ales and bottled drinks. Kids area at the rear of the pub. Very friendly bar staff, highly recommend for families. Carpark at the entrance.wheelchair friendly entrance. Lovely walks to the top of Horsenden hill.
