We went to the grand opera house tonight for the first time for the panto and had the best time and my favourite panto I've seen!! Highly recommend!
Attended the panto on Saturday afternoon. Thought it was fantastic with a script that took into account entertainment for all ages. Singing and dancing was very proffesional. Ugly sister played great panto villians
A small, cosy place. Our family really enjoyed the show there. I’d never seen crisps served in metal cans before, and the size surprised me as well. The toilets were clean and refurbished, and the bar and restaurant felt spacious.
What a great night. We arrived 30 minutes before the show and it was all well organised. We were told where to go while we waited to go to our seats. From the start of the show to the end, it was so entertaining with lots of laughs and audience participation, and we couldn't stop laughing. All the cast played such great characters, and they all had great personalities, which showed during their performance. You can't take photos during the show, but you have a lot of opportunities at the end. If you do nothing else while visiting York, please go and see this show. You won't be disappointed.
A lovely 1,000 seat theatre with atmosphere & charm. All staff are helpful & friendly from box office to bar, concessions stand to seat guides. Book a show! Was at Lost in Music show, absolutely fantastic!!
The staff was polite and helpful if required they any questions you may have. There is plenty of leg room from the seats in front of you. If you scan the code on the back of the seat Infront the staff will bring drinks, snacks, ice cream to your seats. It is really original decor inside with the royal boxes. Well worth a visit to a show. Not disappointed in any way...
The pantomime is brilliant as ever!! However management is shocking. They’ve closed the downstairs toilets for ‘the press’ leaving rest to queue for a single cubicle in the bar. Or go on a trek around the theatre to join another lengthy queue. Why not go to the bar instead ? I’ll tell you why. £7.10 for a 330ml beer, nearly £20 for a large Malbec. I’ll give that a miss also. My advice is avoid this place as it’s now a rip off !!
What a lovely theatre with great staff, many bars & a lovely setting. SIX was epic, such an invigorating show, great cast and so much more than the soundtrack, I highly recommend seeing this.
