Have eaten here a few times in the week and food has always been good, but a friend and l have just been for Christmas lunch and it was fabulous. We asked for a table upstairs, which, on arrival was beautifully set, including lovely fat Christmas Crackers. I had turkey, my friend had beef, thickly sliced meat, and loads of it, huge, fluffy Yorkshire Pudding (none of that hard stuff here!), perfect roast potatoes [and plenty of them] and lovely al dente carrots, cabbage and broccoli, with a jug of gravy to serve yourself. All followed by individual Christmas Pudding and custard (friend had cream). Meal was well priced, service was friendly and fabulous, and l have a doggy bag for lunch tomorrow. If you're looking for somewhere for a bite, and especially to have a Christmas Lunch/Dinner, look no further.

We had such a lovely time here — everything was excellent from start to finish. The atmosphere was cosy and full of character, with lots of charming antique décor that gave the place a really unique and welcoming feel. We tried the fish and chips and they were absolutely delicious — crispy batter, perfectly cooked fish, and generous portions. You can really tell the food is made with care and quality ingredients. The service was friendly and attentive, and we felt genuinely looked after. It’s rare to find a place that gets everything right, but this pub certainly did. We’ll definitely be coming back!

Ambled in for a pint of the house pour but didn’t find one. Rather strange for a London pub. May be it was my accent ;) Settled for a Peroni. The service was impersonal and the ambience passable.

Myself and my daughter went for dinner expecting a nice pub roast, but the menu was Thai only, well we chose from the menu we ate and my God the food was absolutely out of this world great choice too, enjoyed it thoroughly.

A total disappointment. Very slow service, waited around 45 minutes for food, not receiving appetizers before main courses. Fish and chips was great, but the Sunday roast was a real disappointment. The meat and the Yorkshire pudding were dry, the vegetables were reheated, just the potatoes were good. No discount was made no matter we said the dish was not good. Never order the bread selection, it is just some pieces of bread with old butter and some olive oil and vinegar sauce. Will never come back and will never recommend this place at all.

Ordered food Twice here the first time was pretty good but later on the food was not as well cooked as before. Good selection of drinks and the staff were friendly and helpful. I stayed to watch the football game and there were enough screens plus if you get to sit on the sofa that's very comfortable.

Unfortunately has gone downhill recently in terms of food. Used to have a lovely pie selection and good veggie range but now no pies to be found and only one sub-par veggie burger as a main. Clinging on to three stars due to their decent ale selection, good atmosphere and lovely staff.

I had a mosey on down to Croydon to sample some of it's watering holes and first up is the The Spread Eagle which is a fabulous former bank building. As you can see from the picture it's a behemoth of a boozer and they don't waste the space at all. Upstairs is a theatre where they hosts regular comedy nights and the downstairs is a big old booze emporium which is run by Fullers and they know a few things about pubs. If you’re after a large pub that pulls no punches this is one for you.

Classic British pub, good selection of beer on draught and good Sunday roasts.
