Been to this pub many times over the years but not for 2 yrs or so . Still lovely inside cosy and quirky . But very disappointed in food menu previously had a good variety menu even used to do roast fish and other meals and at affordable prices and nice size portions . Now very limited the choice on Sunday Pizza that was very thin and dry and small Burger which I always used to enjoy came very small and had to pay extra for chips that were also small portion and their prices don’t reflect the size sadly . However staff work hard and polite .And they do give a free selection of crackers and cheese So in conclusion change menu have more variety like previously and have a look at portion size and pricing .

15 pound chicken burger, Was as big as chip… also the bun was burnt . When I asked to change they couldn’t help and said it would be the same size . Normally the food is decent but today was pony. Pubs going downhill . The food was like weather spoons . Prices are a joke .6.50 for a pint . Wont be coming back here for a while

Incredible venue with great food and drink! I had the pleasure of being shown around the new renovation upstairs for events. Absolutely top class finish, I can’t recommend this anymore. Well worth the visit!

A wonderful traditional pub with lovely staff. Food is of a great standard with ample amount. Good arrange of beers. Caters for all ages. We always make a beeline to come here when visiting the area. Well done all at the Shortlands Tavern

Addition to previous review when i only had a pint. Updated to 5 stars! Great selection of beers once again. Casks were lovely. Finally got around to eating here. Five of us ate and the food was excellent. Pork belly was fabulous! My son had pizza which he really enjoyed. Only one issue was with my wifes meal(shame as it was her birthday!). However, the manager was extremely understanding and receptive and offered her a complimentary drink and dessert to make up for it. Really appreciated. Great customer service! Will definitely eat here again. Recommended.

Shame that we've only just found this pub after living in Beckenham for four years. Beautiful pub garden with lots of seating, heat lamps, rugs and cushions. Plenty of good beer options, staff were excellent and the food was lovely (you can usually tell by how many people are eating on the night). Pizza last night but looking to work our way through the menu in future!
