Had a fantastic time here and Michael was an amazing host. Amazing hair too!

Great back street pub, not a long stroll from Bromley town centre. Used to drink here in the 1980's after Sunday league football. Same lay out now, fresh and appealing decor. Very polite bar service and a nice pub atmosphere.

Back in the very early 1970s, I used to live in nearby Palace Road. We called the area The Golden Square, simply because we had The Red Lion, The Anglesea Arms, The Freelands Tavern, The Crown and Anchor and The White Horse...all within a 5 minute walk of each other. It was a truly wonderful time to live in what was basically a village within a town. A Friday night could be spent visiting all 5 pubs and you knew that each would offer something unique to your evening. It's been many years since I left the area, but I returned to The White Horse on Friday evening and it was as if I'd stepped back to those far distant days. Great beers and ales, friendly and welcoming staff... and even the locals no longer bite!!! Highly recommended.

Friendly locals pub. It’s great in the winter with their big open fire. Staff are welcoming, chatty and friendly. Some more interesting beers would be great though. Nicely tucked away down some backstreets with other pubs nearby to crawl to.

Bar was very quiet for a saturday night and the cider on tap tasted off. Although the gentleman behind the bar was very friendly, it seemed like more of a bar for the locals and lacked a super welcoming atmosphere. That being said, the decor was nice, the sport was on and the seats comfortable.

I have used this pub frequently but only for meals. They offer 2 main meals for £8 and it is excellent value. We have tried the fish and chips and the gammon stake with chips. Both are always freshly cooked, adequate in size for the price and tasty. Our visits have been early afternoon. At this time there is only one person behind the bar and they are not always there. Staff are very polite and efficient. The pub is never any where near full. Sometimes the background music is a bit loud but they will turn it down in certain areas if asked. The main clientèle is middle aged upwards during the day and they are not at all noisy. Environment is very basic, they do have a big screen sports TV on, and just about clean but don't drop your food on the floor! Sometimes they run out of the fish and chips for the meal deal as they seem to have a limited supply of the 'smaller' fish portions. The regular fish portions are available but not on the meal deal. In summary, good pub for a reasonable meal, never crowded but basic.Park outside or just round the corner but charged as is all of Beckenham.
