Brought my mum for her Birthday and we had the Afternoon Tea. It was so lovely. The staff were helpful and friendly, the service was great. The food was scrumptious too. We love the decor at the Lytton, peaceful and beautifully designed. Lots of sumptuous soft furnishings which really helps with noise levels. We walked around the beautifully landscaped gardens afterwards.

When we first visited the Lytton Restaurant it was sparkling clean, with fresh decor, a buzzy atmosphere, and great food. What happened? The venue and bar areas are tired and in need of a refresh - new paint, furniture, and new decor required - with a much needed uplift to offer a younger vibe. Music, when played, works well! The bar and restaurant, after all, are intended to welcome non-resident visitors and Audley Club members. It does have more of a care home feel at the moment, with the bar area in particular housing an underwhelming assortment of tired-looking furniture. We miss the smart and enticing venue it used to be, especially when compared to other Audley Villages such as the stunning setting of the one at Leamington Spa. I am disappointed that on two occasions I had booked lunch, only to find on arrival that it was pizza, garlic bread, and chips only. No alternative menu, and very little in the way of side salads. Afternoon Tea is prepared in the mornings - hence the pre-order - so the offering is underwhelming and dry. The Restaurant and Bar Staff are young, friendly, and interested in progressing their roles. The Spa and Gym staff manage the Spa and Gym facilities for members and visitors brilliantly: the Therapists and Gym manager are superb - it’s the pool changing rooms and pool area that are not clean and very tired. The poolside loungers are filthy and there is no space is available for post-treatment relaxation. This area could accommodate 4 relaxation pods to easily overcome this! All these comments have been fed back to Head Office, but no response or changes have been made to date. . . . I do hope things upgrade as soon as possible to reach the high standards Audley Dene deserves for all!

My friend and I took her sister for an Afternoon Tea at Lytton Dene this afternoon. The pictures shown on Facebook are very different to the presentation we received - that was the first disappointment considering this was a birthday present to her. The greeting from the young waiter was less than impressive and we were vaguely shown to our table. We were not asked about preferences or allergies (of which I actually have!). To be fair, the food was very tasty, especially the sandwiches- my favourite! I kindly asked if it would be possible to have a little more sandwiches and was told (without hesitation) no! We have been to various establishments for afternoon tea and this is normally offered. We had to ask to have more coffee and tea and actually had to ask again to get it. Sorry Lytton Dene, you really disappointed us and as a result, cannot recommend you to my friends and family - that upsets me. Please try to be more attentive to your customers and maybe pander to their whims a bit more. That said, the smaller waiter with glasses provided a much more professional and friend service and actually gave us a few more biscuits as we had to wait so long for our drinks refills. We witnessed other guests receiving a much better service. I normally give 5* reviews.

Very up and down review for a very mixed evening meal. Buckle up and settle in for this one folks. The Service Quiet disappointed initially as looked forward to a good meal at what was supposed to be a good restaurant. Despite there only being three tables we had to chase our drinks orders and track down waiters. Turns out there were only three front of house staff on a Saturday! I think two of them were not old enough to drink and the other barely. They were clearly in over their head but to their credit their initial look of panic everytime I chased an order turned into dogmatic calm as they scurried around as best they could given lack of experience and short handedness. The Food Great! I was of course concerned at this time. No staff and children manning the bar! what is the kitchen going to be like? Fortunately the kitchen churned out very good food in a timely manner. It was enough to allow our party to relax and enjoy the tea generiously spilling out of a pot onto the floor as the waiter hurried with a pot at a downward angle. Excellent steak, cooked as we asked, good chips and a superb eton mess that could feed the 5000. The other guests If the story ended there all would be fine. Alas, the restaurant seems to have unwittingly parked itself in a retirement home. The other guests clearly habited close by and frequented the restaurant frequently. This lead to an Octagenarian couple to be furious with our table. We had an 8 year old, a 6 year old, a 3 year old and two babies. The couple evidently could not handle such abundance of youth leading to them shouting rude things, and accused us of not being able to control out children and claiming to have spoiled their evening. I would mention that we were there first and it was quiet empty in there so could have any number of talbes further away. The unfortunate upshot was it ruined almost ruined the whole evening. We suspect the restaurant wants families to visit it but may want to warn the people born in the Victorian era that they may have to suffer laughter nearby and that children now do come to meals as opposed to being locked in cupboards. The staff did a very good job of trying to calm everyone down I must add.

We had afternoon tea today. Our waiter was very pleasant. The food was lovely, however it was a shame not to be offered more tea or coffee during the time we were seated. We choose to sit outside after our food and enjoy the glorious grounds. I purchased a round of drinks at the bar. I paid for these immediately. I was therefore a little irritated when we came to leave to be shouted at across the room was I planning on paying my bill for drinks before leaving! I stated I had already paid to which the bar person shrugged her shoulders and said ok. Some what perturbed by this I decided to check the payment had gone through and went back to the bar to show my banking app receipt as proof to which I was told they had found it but thanks anyway. No apology for the unnecessary way I was spoken to. Something of a tarnish on what had otherwise been a lovely afternoon.

We went for afternoon tea with work colleagues. One issue was nowhere to park and being winter on a rainy winter afternoon had a fair walk to the venue. We had 2 vegetarians the options were cheese cheese and more cheese re sandwiches. Although we were told we had limitless tea and coffee we weren't checked on to see if we wanted a top up and had to keep asking. All in all lovely settings and venue.. reasonably priced but not the greatest variety re cakes and sandwiches.

My wife and I recently found this restaurant on Bookable. We lived locally and wasn’t aware it even existed; we were not disappointed. We were greeted at the bar by smiley Waitress and offered a cocktail of the cocktail menu. They have just launched the Spring menu which looked really appetizing. I went for the salmon and the Lamb and my husband Risotto balls and the Hake, the food was well seasoned and very tasty. Just before we had finished the Chef came out and chatted to the tables which was nice, Barry or Baz as he asked to be called even told us he previously worked on the set of James Bond! After dinner we relaxed in the Bar, it was quiet but so cozy. We will return for our next date night.
