We held our works Christmas dinner here on Friday 12th December and I must say we had an amazing time! Considering we had 38 people for a 3 course meal, the staff absolutely smashed it! The food was nice the atmosphere was buzzing and the staff were very attentive. We didnt realise there was a going to be a live DJ so it really enhanced our evening. So thank you so much for an absolutely amazing night! Safe to say everyone had a fantastic time

Came here yesterday after a long hospital appointment, and we enjoyed some lovely food.and drinks, served by two ladies at the bar, one I think was the manager. She was concerned about the setting of my Dad's pint, and wanted to check it was perfect before serving, and took the trouble to draw another pint to match to. The lunchtime sandwich deal is great value. Will definitely be back. Thanks Phoenix!

Popped in to grab some food for my dad at kings and had a half pint and and apple juice with my brothers. The beer was good and clean and the apple juice was fresh. I didn’t eat the food so I can’t really comment on it but it appeared to go down well. When we went there was some sort of quiz going on which is another bonus along with how gorgeous the place was. The staff were super friendly (more coming later) and professional and the venue is gorgeous, huge vaulted ceilings, moody lighting, flowers, outdoor seating the lot. But for me today and why this place is getting a review was the staff, I had asked them for takeaway cutlery and briefly explained the situation with my father wanting to feel actual cutlery and eat normally and they let me take a set of metal cutlery. This was probably against some set of rules for them but I can not express how grateful I am to everyone involved. I’m sure as you can imagine this meant a lot for us and even more for our dad. Thank you so much.

Classic British pub with variety of dishes and drinks, with great ambience. Not very crowded usually, except on a Friday night. Have good seating indoor and outdoors. Offer 10% NHS Discount when you spend above £20. Recommended.

We held 2 company functions here recently and everything was excellent. So easy to book and communicate, staff worked so hard on the night to make sure we had everything we needed and the food and drinks were plentiful and delicious. Thanks so much to Amazing Amy and the whole team

Last week I had a lunch reservation booked for 12.30. I arrived at 12.10 - early - said I had a reservation, and was told to sit anywhere, and took the menu from the bar. I received an email about then to remind me of my reservation. When my colleagues arrived and at 12.30, I went to the bar and asked for another menu. I was told that there wasn't one. At 12.40 we went to order at the bar and were told that the pub was not serving food and that the kitchen was closed. After protracted discussions, the manager eventually being called and news from the kitchen that it would open, our orders were taken at 13.10. I attempted to pay but the prices that I were wrong. £28.50 for a beetroot salad! We waited for our food, only to be told that two of our orders were not available. Eventually we ordered very modest dishes that we were assured would be available. When we came to leave it took more discussions before an accurate bill could be produced. This was in every way an utterly hopeless, depressing, miserable experience. I emailed a complaint via form on Mitchell & Butler website but did not even have the courtesy of a reply.

Discovered this lovely pub during one of my most stressful days (finding a flat at the moment is quite hard). The staff here are some of the loveliest people I have met. I've been here 3 times now and I am always greeted with a smile. The selection of drinks are fantastic with an array of beers, as well as a lovely selection of wines. If you're here before 5pm, I highly recommend the steak sand-which, it'll have your taste buds singing.

Meet up with my girls for a Sunday chill and catch up, with temperatures soaring to a lovely 28 degrees. This pub offered lovely seating area over the Denmark hill rail tracks. The service was good, the staff friendly and welcoming. I ordered the Korean friend chicken as a starter, and yes you guessed it a steak as my starter. The 30 day 8 oz Sirloin steak, cooked well done with beef dripping sauce and triple cut chips and some Halloumi fries. The girls ordered sharing narchos and roast dinners one with a quarter chicken and the othe 21 day sirloin, with side of Mac and cheese. I would rate my food as a 4/5 for the Korean fried chicken. 3/5 for the steak and Halloumi fries 4/5. The girls rated they roast dinners as 3/5 and the max and cheese 1/5( this was abysmal, it was burnt and looked like it was cook in a bowl in the microwave l, avoid at all costs). Otherwise the overall experience was great the drinks where flowing and the vibe was chilled. Oh be prepared for a little Helicopter noise (Kings college Hosiptal) as the helipad is less then 900 meters from the pub, so it gets loud very loud.

A beautiful pub spanning the rails at the end of Denmark hill station. Vaulted ceilings, a balcony and a terrace, lovely. Lovely beer and welcoming staff. A great place to visit.
