I booked the private room upstairs for my 30th birthday and had an amazing time. For starters the minimum spend was so reasonable compared to other pubs in London, making it far more affordable. The pub were super accommodating of all my requests in the lead up the event. The Head Chef Franc was amazing at helping me create a suitable menu for my guests and helped with lots of my back and forth emailing. Finally the staff were amazing on the day, so accommodating and made my day super special! Everyone still components the food- which was top quality! Would highly recommend for a private event.

The Carter’s menu was so delicious, I need to come back for the full menu (I was there for a roast). Even though this place is right in the center of camberwell, it’s a bit off the main road so it was a nice chill spot for a Sunday! The staff were super friendly and fun. For starters try the panisse made of chickpeas, I didn’t want to share it (even though it’s a big portion)!

This pub has a lovely vibe and atmosphere, seating inside and outside tucked in round the corner of the main road in Camberwell. Was fully booked for Sunday roast so definitely recommend booking if you want to dine here. The staff are friendly and welcoming and initially it was a good experience but the food took ages to arrive and wasn’t piping hot when we got it. Menu online had a lamb option but the menu didn’t have lamb when we got there. It was slightly overpriced and wasn’t the best experience. Had a beef roast and the meat was very pink but not tender, was hard to cut through and chew. Roast potatoes were lovely though and so was the Yorkshire pudding. Gravy was a bit on the stingy side. Overall wasn’t that impressed for the price, had to chase the waiter a few times for our order. We waited about 50 mins to be served after ordering and ordered an extra side that came about 15 mins after our main meal. Wanted to stay for a dessert but didn’t have time. Not sure if it was just a slightly off day for them. The food was all a little underwhelming but it is still a nice pub to go for drinks!

Booked in for Sunday at 4:30. Wouldn't recommend bothering with the Sunday roast at this time, maybe we are to blame but doesn't seem outrageously late? Only had 2 meat options on the menu in the first place; Beef and Turkey. By the time we got there all they had was Turkey left. Don't know a soul who actually likes Turkey so I can't believe this isn't a common occurrence or surprise to them. Just do everybody a favor and remove off the menu or offer better meat alternatives. Unsurprisingly bang average but I don't lay blame at the kitchen, can't polish a (s**t) and all that. Also ran out of Cauliflower cheese and a couple starters. Trimmings were fine, service and wine all fine. Just not the brilliant sunday roast I remember from a year prior, will look elsewhere from now on.

Had my birthday celebrations for a Sunday lunch with friends. We were 20 and hire the private room upstairs. Beautiful pub on the side of Camberwell road. The food was 5stars, very good and juicy roasts and starters. Great service received on the day, and also from Monica the manger that has helped me prior the day. Definitely recommend to pop in for a beer if you are in the area or as place to organizing special meals.

I live local and have always heard good things about the roast dinner here and thought I should try it out. Absolutely awful, the Yorkshire pudding looked and tasted like an omelette. The pork which had the texture of a rubber boot came out with flies all over it and to top it off we were given one serving of gravy between 4 people. Not sure what happened here but it definitely was not what we were expecting.

Of the many good independent pubs still thriving in Camberwell, the Well is among my favorite. Great selection of food, welcoming environment (LGBTQ+ friendly too) and good pints. I especially like coming here for Sunday brunch (and i ask my beef well done).

A simple little street corner pub with a distinct kitchen restaurant feel to it. Just popped in for a drink, cold lagery and excellent on a hot day. Very pleasant staff and the place feels welcoming. A couple of cask ales are available for those that like. The kegs are not mainstream but mine at least, very tasty. An enjoyable pint!
